OUT TODAY!!!

THE OCTOBER GIRL Book One from me and @maverickogn.bsky.social!

It's the first book in a YA suburban fantasy series with hints of Bradbury, Charles Addams, Amelié, Doctor Who, and Tim Burton, and I'm fiercely proud of it!
I remember a political cartoon strip to this effect back in the late 80s early 90s called President Bill I think. The everyday citizen was conscripted to be President against his will.
@rhondaparrish.bsky.social has edited some great anthologies over the years! This sounds like a no brainer to support. Do the thing!
OKAY PEOPLE YOU KNOW THE DRILL: HIT THAT FOLLOW BUTTON

This is a Canadian small press, with a Canadian editor, so LET'S GET THOSE CANADIAN CLICKS (worldwide clicks also appreciated and loved equally, but I can't bully you in the same manner as I can Canadians)

REAGAN: “When someone says let’s impose tariffs, it may look like they’re doing the patriotic thing… but over the long run trade barriers hurt every 🇺🇸 worker.”

🇨🇦 Ontario just ran this👇🏽powerful ad using Reagan’s voice against Trump’s trade war during game 7 of the ALCS ⚾️

Whatever happens tonight, what a joyous, wonderful, magical few weeks of baseball — feeling grateful for this city and this team.

(Now let’s go to the World Series.)

Love to see @premeemohamed.com at Perfect Books in conversation with @kateheartfield.com! Makes the country feel comfortably small to see her here after saying goodbye in @banffcentre.bsky.social a month ago.

I once sarcastically said that Trump wants to build Hitler's Germania project. But between this and his proposed arch I'm saying it again, and not sarcastically this time.
Donald Trump is now officially demolishing part of the White House to make room for his $200 million golden ballroom.

This comes as Americans can’t afford groceries and the government is still shut down.
I’m fully expecting his next move to be LITERALLY wiping his ass with the constitution.
He's literally tearing down the White House. Literally.

LITERALLY.

Highly recommend: throwing any and all creatives a DM/comment/email to let them know how their work touched you, whether now or in the past.

I never expect a reply. But doing this regularly not only helps others see their art is valued, but improves your own confidence & connection.

Ottawa area peeps—you should totally, as in Totes McGoats, go to Perfect Books on Elgin St tonight at 7 for the launch of the latest book by @premeemohamed.com, who will be in conversation with @kateheartfield.com! Cannot wait to read THE FIRST THOUSAND TREES!
I picked this up just this past weekend and can’t wait to read Annalee’s take on this.
There’s something timely about @annaleen.bsky.social's new novella in which the major plot line is a campaign of “coordinated inauthentic activity” against members of marginalized communities who have the temerity to eke out a modicum of success.

That disjointed feeling of being back at work immediately following a weekend surrounded by other writers and creatives.

On this day in 1964, Butternut Square debuted on CBC. Starring Ernie Coombs, it was on this show he developed the character of Mr. Dressup. Judith Lawrence also debuted Casey and Finnegan on the show. Butternut Square ran until 1967 when it was replaced with Mr. Dressup.
