Today's Halloween treat is an illustration called "Der Alptraum" (The Nightmare) by German artist Hermann Wöhler. Drawn in 1915 it has the alternate title "Der Alp bemächtigt sich eines Hauses" (The Incubus Taking Possession of a House)

I had an idea for a Sizey scene in a haunted house. Typically, a haunted house consists of herding the guests into tight spaces and exposing them to disorienting lights and sounds so they’re maximally primed for the next costumed maniac to jump out of a closet.

These very true words from Steve Hely have given me tremendous comfort over the years.

Writing a novel— actually picking the words and filling in paragraphs— is a tremendous pain in the ass. Now that TV’s so good and the Internet is an endless forest of distraction, it’s damn near impossible. That should be taken into account when ranking the all-time greats. Somebody like Charles Dickens, for example, who had nothing better to do except eat mutton and attend public hangings, should get very little credit.

Coming out of Canada was their own take on Uncanny Tales. The April 1942 cover showed a few gigantic robots trampling a city.

Heard about a myth local to the island Varaldsøy (Norway), a giantess who tried to haul it to the mainland but broke a mountain, Gygrastolen (Giantess's Throne).

Today's Halloween recommendation, "Weapons," is a recently released film without a size theme, but is enjoyable nonetheless. It has a mystery and a satisfying ending. However, it is horror and the satisfying end is not quite a happy ending.

Today's Halloween recommendation contains themes of horror, unnatural size, and vore. Story's greatest strength is the limited scope.
It's not that the whole world is dangerous but one area, where the protagonists just entered, definitely is.
