it’s donut and pie season and I just want to remind the nation that there is no nutmeg in connecticut, that is a tropical plant. The state is called the nutmeg state because early yankee peddlers used chunks of wood carved to look like nutmeg to trick people into trading them for better goods

Why don’t cars backfire anymore. We’re missing out on highly comedic moments. How are we supposed to have an Uncle Buck reboot if cars don’t backfire anymore. How are we supposed to have scenes of shrieking posh white people thinking someone shot a gun. I’m so sick of DEI ruining everything

I have said things about this in the past but: CT only having one immigration court– in Hartford!– is criminal because CT has essentially no public transit between cities. How can someone get from Danbury to Hartford when it requires multiple buses, multiple trains, and sometimes 8+ hours of time?
NEW: I spent a week in Connecticut’s only immigration court, where thousands of people each year learn if they can stay in the United States.
The court doesn’t allow photography, so I took an illustrator.
