Zekhan’s importance to the Darkspear Tribe can’t be understated. He is arguably the most important Darkspear character for the future of this franchise. He has been set-up perfectly.

I want to talk a little bit about that, because Trolls are my thing but also specifically Zekhan. My boy.

Thinking about Zohran Mamdani’s victory speech and how he was able to get an enthusiastic call and response from “freeze the rent, keep buses fast and free, make healthcare universal” almost as if people respond to strong, confident, actionable statements

The thing about Make America Great Again is that it’s clear and actionable to voters regardless of any prior knowledge, while being vague enough that you can project any idea into it. “Strong floor, no ceiling” is just confusing meaningless rhetoric to anyone who doesn’t follow venture capitalists
No value, no villain, no vision. Sounds like the tagline for the earnings call of a collapsing appliance retailer

Shared Fantasy, the first sociological monograph about roleplaying games, is about a period when established players are dealing with a new wave of younger players with different priorities. The period is 1978.
A game where you can do anything and they’re mad that people are doing anything.

I try to keep my Allied Race Wishlist short.

But man is it getting longer each year. I do get why we got Earthen and Harranir but there's just so many options that people have been asking for throughout the years that are miles better.

I do hope they consider these guys next.

Thread about how adaptable Draw Steel is to other fantasy settings. Doesn't seem like anyone's having any issues running it in all kinds of established and homebrew settings.

I like Draw Steel, but what if you wanted it to be say in a different setting, either say completely sci-fi, or adventures in Ancient Greece? Or...

The Amani didn't "do" anything cause they are not real. Someone wrote this and we should be able to have fun discussing and criticizing what this story portrays. If you still feel like the Amani are real and did real war crimes, I hope you get your family out of Zul'Aman soon.

This is an universal topic, a topic you could discuss about many things and not just the Amani. Paired with the really bad idea that Indigenous people are violent and that "taking the land back" means violence towards the settlers is what should be criticized.

There is a story there to be had about why the Amani would turn to violence, why the Witherbark at the Arathi would turn to violence, how generational and mass trauma creates violent men who see death as an act of heroism, especially among their own and thus hurt their own soldiers and people.

"The Amani should be criticized and held accountable for the violence against the elves"

The Amani are not real. The narrative around the Amani should be discussed for the lack of nuance in portraying a population coded as BIPOC to be violent "primitive" aggressors and how it has evolved since.
