I don't wanna say its 100% required viewing, but it definitely serves as a sort of prelude, introducing characters and ideas present in ep3.

It would be appreciated if Blizzard had actually doubled down on new characters more than they're doing at the moment.
Still amazed that Zekhan was introduced in BFA and he hasn't been touched AT ALL. He's the first new relevant Darkspear character in years. He is younger. He has a unique armor set. He's been in multiple cinematics.
Not even a cameo in the heritage quest or anniversary event.
