They suffered from others harassing them. If I accept it's bad writing and it doesn't matter, I have to accept I was insulted and harassed for nothing. And that hurts, because it's true. Most of faction discourse it's for nothing and it absolves Blizz of accountabilty for writing bad stories.

That only Blizzard benefits from. And this just ensures you will trap your players in this tribalism forever. You can't even criticize stuff like Teldrassil or Battle for Dazar'alor without people defending really shit writing cause it feels like an attack on their identity and all the hurt -

This is why the Teldrassil jokes are not aimed at fantasy people who died and no one is mad cause of it. It's aimes at the players, it says "We OWNED you" "We kicked your ass" "We won" and in turn people will defend it because they are defending themselves. It's a vicious cycle -

Yeah, because when you turn this into a personal identity for people, especially through merch and simple recognizable elementa like colors and logos, people feel like their own identity is attacked. And in turn people use it to attack others with intention to do personal insult and damage.

Yep which is why I am irritated when people argue with me and get really into faction conflict like guys, this is no better than sports fans, don't do Blizzard's job for them

I agree that the faction conflict is dumb and really badly written, but also I don't think that's white saviour or at least not unique to this, since we are helping people of other nations, races, groups etc, that try and chase us off half the time at the start since the start of WoW

That's why Teldrassil is the biggest meta tragedy and why we are now questioning why we help others in the game. Cause you feel like you are helping other REAL people and don't get a thank you or a reward from THEM, instead of helping NPCs for ingame items. This is by design, make no mistake.

But this reinforces my theory that people are more reactive of faction conflic than anything else because Blizzard plays right into the innate sense of tribalism and people don't like to feel like other real people are getting more or taking something from them. It's an excellent marketing strategy.

My Alliance characters are simply there to help cause the bunch that are involved are people who want to protect the world and stop a growing threat from reaching their homes, which us the right and noble thing to do, RIP to everyone else 😔🙏
