I always get a little rush of empathy for Muradin. The rest of the Alliance leaders are quietly sad, but he is openly SOBBING at Varian's coffin.

Muradin was the liason and ambassador to Lordaeron during the second war, where Varian was sheltered.

Muradin had known him since Varian was a child.

My headcanon is that Sargeras had some idea that the forces of death had infiltrated his Legion, but he largely ignored them because

A: It didn't impede on his plans

B: He figured he could crush them and cast them aside when they became inconvenient.

I have to believe that lol

Legion did well setting how dire the circumstances were. One of the prep pieces before going to the Broken Shore is Eating a "Last Meal", and they put out the good stuff lol

Alright, first of all, I'm not sure I don't like the way my girl Baduu is catching strays in this. Broken can be cute!

SECOND of all, yeah I just worry/think that the Alliance needs something -real- splashy, and as cool as the broken are, I'm worried they don't have that general appeal.

I agree I think they’re cool, as someone who knows the lore and is deeper into the story than the average player. I feel the same way about mechagnomes, and I say this with all due respect to my robo-bros: They are the least-played race in the game.

They’d have to be a full custom-job model AND they’d need to figure out mounts, gear (are boots just little tail tippy covers? Where do pants end and boots begin?) etc.

Ethereals could be a goblin situation where they’re still mostly neutral but a cartel joins the Alliance, not saying it’s gonna happen, but it could absolutely be written and be fine.

I would love broken too, but I don’t know how popular they would be.

The thing is those other human kingdoms are not physically different from Stormwind humans in the same way Amani are different from Darkspear. (And also the game is unclear about whether or not the player character is from Stormwind in most cases)

I maintain that Horde Earthen were a mistake, but you don’t fix a mistake by making another one. Amani should be Horde.

Yeah, speaking of goblins though maybe in the same way a single goblin cartel joined the Horde, a single ethereal cartel can join the Alliance?

So the challenge now is to give the Alliance something cool and exciting that Alliance players actually want.

High Elves? Maybe, but at this point void elf customizations pretty much cover it.

Ethereals? Blizz have kinda shot down this idea but if they change course on Amani, maybe they can here?

The way I see it, playable Amani would really be a slam dunk.

The biggest issue at this point is: What do you give the Alliance?

Because let's be honest- the Amani should be a Horde race, but you can't give the Alliance *nothing*. They got the short end of the Allied Race stick as it is.
