I am calling upon the people of Ireland to immediately begin construction of a thread on this site about how you or someone you know was roasted for a fashion choice. We need it.

All roasts must have come from Irish people *only*. Please respect this important rule, it makes a difference.

I’ve seen a few folks go for the “if you simply must watch that new Harry Potter show just pirate it” and sorry. No. Just no. Just don’t watch it. At all. Ever. Break free of it. It’s time. You’ll be ok. I promise. I know it mattered to you as a kid. Find new things, it’s healthier. Just move on.

Absolutely correct
American politics makes a lot more sense when you realize that the GOP is afraid of pissing off the GOP base, and the Dems are afraid of pissing off the GOP base, but neither party is afraid of pissing off the Dem base.

doing a little history read up. absolutely heartbreaking to learn that a century ago Arkansas was the first state in the union to ratify the proposed Child Labor Amendment, and now it's at the forefront of slashing child labor protections

If you’re gonna post about the GTA 6 delay, you should also post about Rockstar’s union busting.

I’m not trying to say that they announced the delay today in order to burry the union busting story, but people will miss the union busting news because of the delay news

Saying that it's "too hard" to get on the Irish president ballot when an independent woman got the entire Irish left to back her, got the biggest vote ever and beat two historically dominant parties is not just wrong - it is breathtakingly offensive and outrageously dishonest.

Our 10th president, Catherine Connolly, won more votes with her presidential campaign than any other single electoral candidate in Irish political history.

That's really fucking something, no matter what the spoil the vote crowd, your David Quinns etc will no doubt tell you

given the uncertainty of the political climate when nominations were being made, i think Sinn Féin choosing to endorse Connolly instead of running their own candidate was the right decision, especially because it shows the Left's willingness to compromise in order to achieve meaningful progress

Tonight people are going to push a narrative of "why are immigrants taking our homes/healthcare/stuff" instead of the actual narrative which should be "why don't we have what we need, why have our governments failed us?". And it's convenient for the govt to have this be the message.
