I love these anthologies. Looking forward to reading "Lullaby," Marie!
Just a reminder that i have a story in this upcoming Best Of Anthology!

"A Lullaby of Anguish," about our obsession with buying and selling and displaying anguish, and two sisters who were caught in that life

My post #WorldCon plane book was Anne de Marcken’s It Lasts Forever and Then It’s Over- a literary zombie novel using undead bodies as a metaphor for grief. It's short, spare, & poetic, with allusions to Judith Butler & Djuna Barnes.

Liked it. Not sure I got everything it was doing on this read.

Quick plug: if you're at Seattle #WorldCon and haven't yet walked over to the fabulous Elliot Bay Bookstore, I highly recommend it. It's a wonderfully curated store with great staff picks & it's pretty close to the convention center.

just take a hyphen and make two of them--like that--and your computer often autocorrects.
Stop spreading this garbage about em dashes in ACTUAL EDITED PROSE OH MY GOD.

Plenty of actual human beings know how to type em dashes! We’re called “writers” and “editors” — maybe you’ve heard of us?

Just finished Kay Chronister's THE BOG WIFE. Melancholy, lovely ecogothic/folk-horror novel about a dysfunctional family navigating their collective griefs & figuring out a new way to relate to each other and the land. #posthumanism #Gothic #ecocriticism

An amazing horror novel. I describe it as a magic realist Narcos.

Put in some long hours of narration work for one of my favorite outlets, @pseudopod.org, reading an incredible, devastating work by @siobhancarroll.bsky.social and I'm looking forward to sharing it with all of you. It consumed & repelled me in the best ways, a push and pull only Horror can manage.
