That's... Okay, there's no way this scenario hasn't been discussed so the freezes are likely intentional—and I'm not sure you'd want the things moving during a blackout *because* drivers are going to be more erratic without lights—but, also: yikes, I would not want to be a passenger during this
So we found out today in San Francisco that autonomous cars don't work in a blackout (Waymos shut down, wherever they were, all over city)
Participating in live experiments is fun! I still wish I'd been asked beforehand. But it is pretty wild and kind of cool to see them discover their edge cases.

Again, the intellectual environment on this site is poisonous, and the blocking culture and nuclear block has a lot to do with it. Anyone who expresses an unpopular or dissenting view is assumed to be a troll; many popular accounts essentially refuse to ever take a true minority view as a result
I do think that many people have far too aggressive a block trigger that is very damaging to discussion and supercharging of confirmation bias. You can of course manage your feed how you like, I just think we should all tolerate more dissonance.
