I think the responses to both this and OP are calling you a doofus in complete honesty and good faith.
Wow 80% bad-faith responses, and people lecturing the creator of Flask here and the creator of Django/datasette in the comments on why AI is useless for software engineering...
Is this platform still massively against AI or has it moved more towards acceptance?

Finally firing up my old scripts for this year and one of the first things I found of interest is that entering tonight’s games OKC, DEN & HOU are a combined 29-0 in games that never enter “clutch” territory

Good thread.

There are genuine uses - a more interactive NLP version of Stack Overflow is not nothing for example - but demand for those uses is several orders of magnitude smaller than the investment.

Also, as John says, “AI” is the wrong nomenclature. LLM’s are not intelligent in any real way.
I'm a programmer, so the exact person you're talking about. I find even in this sector it's one or the other. It's pretty dog shit for tech as well. It's mostly replaced the need for websites like stackoverflow, but it is not capable of doing any sort of quality coding.

I guess I should add that encumbrances on podcast/writing stuff have been lifted as well. You know where to find me.
I am, as LinkedIn would say, open to new opportunities at present…
do you ever think about giving up this basketball stuff and dedicating yourself full time to ninja warrior analysis? i'll hang up and listen

It’s like watching someone biff on the final obstacle of Ninja Warrior
I am a medium-name sportswriter at best, but allow me to add mine:

1. Pickles are disgusting
2. Pineapples on pizza are delicious
3. Coffee tastes like charcoal dipped in bathwater
We need to do everything we can to encourage posts like this on bluesky. Terrible food opinions from big name sportswriters are genuinely the lifeblood of any social media app

In the past I’ve been tempted to argue that corporate HR people often get a bad rap, but this last week or so has strongly disabused me of that notion.

For the next while I'm gonna be in here regurgitating Gordon Wood.

I tend to prefer flavors of defensive RAPM such as those from NBARAPM.com or xRAPM.com for overall measures of defensive impact. EPM from @taylorsnarr.bsky.social is also good, but the box score prior can cause some distortion IMO.

But individual defense is *HARD* to measure.

Counterpoint: the show had zero idea what it was trying to say after they got past Martin’s published work beyond “ooh shiny”
i feel like if you understand what the ending of the show was trying to say there's no point in having any content set after it.

These particular numbers don’t because defense is hard to measure via the box score and those are two very box score forward metrics. But even better calibrated metrics suggest Jokic is much closer to average than terrible defensively.
@sethpartnow.bsky.social Jokic is always at the top of DWS and DBPM. But it's dismissed because (a) his backups stink and (b) the 'eye test' says Jokic is an average defender, at best. Don't those metrics account for backup quality? And, it's year 5 of this. The numbers tell us something, right?
