Okay yeah, This feels like a mix of AI Slop, Trace Photo Ref, and Actual (mostly rushed) Art, all made to hide the duct tape and glue.
Im kinda mad I backed the Kickstarter, checking that now they REALLLLLLY hid this.

To be 100% clear: there is no acceptable use-case for genAI. As OP notes, the question “is this ethical?” is binary and the answer, resoundingly, unequivocally, no matter what stage of the process you’re talking about, even just this one time, even with mitigating circumstances, is “no.”
Clair Obscur Expedition 33 is proof to me that AI will punch a hole clean through the entire art spectrum because as soon as it was used in something that made you feel something, 90% of so called critics went out of their way to go "well I think it's acceptable in this case"
