The Trump regime granted the suspected shooter asylum earlier this year.

Now they are taking his alleged crime out on all Afghan nationals seeking entrance to the US.

Another ban. Another excuse for violence and deportation.
It didn’t even take 6 hours.

big late breaking news: the market monitor for the largest energy grid in the u.s., covering much of the midwest and mid-atlantic, has called to block new data centers connections to the grid, saying current course of growth assures regular blackouts
No more PJM data centers unless they can be reliably served: market monitor
The PJM Interconnection’s market monitor urged the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission to rule that large data centers can only come online if the grid operator can still meet reliability metrics.

"But the couples and their lawyers said they had followed the required steps: They had submitted extensive paperwork and paid fees. The foreign spouses had been fingerprinted and passed medical exams. None had criminal records. None had entered the country illegally."
I need everybody to read this and understand what’s going on. These are spouses of US citizens in the country legally. They have entry clearance and green cards, they’ve passed background checks and have no criminal records. ICE is taking them anyway.

Just profoundly stupid and hateful
National parks have SO MANY people from other countries (since they get real vacations!)

And they spend a lot of money on hotels, food, souvenirs, etc.

This is unbelievably dumb, it will destroy entire tourist towns

A sad irony in Washington, D.C., where West Virginia National Guardsmen were shot today. Six days ago, a court ruled their deployment was illegal, but stayed the order pending appeal. My heart goes out to these public servants and their families. oag.dc.gov/sites/defaul...

It's not just that the United States has stopped trying to promote liberal democratic ideas internationally. It's that the United States is actively trying to promote the contrary. It's trying to turn more countries into Hungary.

They should be reminded that “just following orders” was not a successful defense in the Nuremberg trials
“Mr. Paul said the agents had told him that they disagreed with the directive to arrest Ms. Paul but that they had to follow orders.

“They are having them grab everyone they can,” Mr. Paul said. “This is just not right.”

Trump doesn't care that his deployment of the National Guard is dangerous — but the governors deploying these Guard members should.

We're calling on Governors Ivey, Kemp, Landry, Reeves, DeWine, Lee, and Morrisey to recall their Guard members from DC. Email all seven: bit.ly/seven-governors

An 18yo US citizen, surrounded by eight masked, armed agents of the state, taken into custody, not read his rights, not offered a chance to contact a lawyer, proof of citizenship ignored, handcuffed so tightly he later required medical attention.

Profoundly, profoundly anti-American shit.

I keep thinking about all the talented, ethical journalists who have been out of work for ages and getting angry all over again
Because people are treating it like a juicy spectacle and not like a significant failure of journalism and a condemnation of the industry.

For non-lawyers: this is the largest sanction against an attorney for frivolous conduct that I've ever heard of*. When attorneys are sanctioned $10-$20k is a big deal. This is a MASSIVE deal.

*- not counting the slightly different issue of defendants having their answer struck for misconduct.
