UPDATE

Attorney representing these men just now tells me that her clients were not deported. Some other Iranians were deported though, unclear if any were asylum seekers as well. Should have more information tomorrow.

Alex Pretti "used to tell people off when they made sexist comments to female physicians. He bought me coffee when I had a really bad day as an intern...I laughed alongside him daily. He made a point to teach medical residents without judgement, but with a smile on his face and a joke."

Protesters are gathering on every corner of Power and Ray Rd preparing for a march towards the Mesa Gateway Airport, which is also the site of the Arizona Removal Operations Coordination Center (an ICE detention center). Lots of horns in support. A kid just handed me a 3D printed whistle they made.

🧵 On January 16, a vehicle carrier holding several ICE “defend the homeland” branded SUVs was spotted outside the ICE Phoenix Field Office. They were parked along the DHS and employee entrance on Central and Monte Vista Rd, the road sandwiched between the ICE office and Heard Museum parking lot.
