Did I just call my insurance company to let them know that, no, in fact I will not be paying the $8.31 that Aetna didn't cover for a service I didn't ask for?
Why yes, yes I did.

Local real estate developer wants to call in the troops over a secular decline in mall traffic.
Call in the troops to solve the commercial real estate crisis in our swanky downtown cores

Putting aside whether I buy into the year-end playbook... Can we just fully take in the asset price inflation? 85% 3yr gains on stocks? It's "the rich get richer" on steroids.
But sure, let's cut food stamps and jack up health insurance premiums.

TOM LEE: Year-end performance chase likely.

In a normal democracy, a total collapse of party leadership would result in an no-confidence vote and immediate snap elections to find leaders who can lead

This just feels pretty dystopian.
Music to my ears. Being booed by 20,000+ people! Good job DC!

Not to brag but I've been a Chuck Schumer hater since before it was cool. The guy has always sucked. Weird people are just finding out now.
Democratic organizers did our fucking part. We gave Democrats a clean sweep on Tuesday so Chuck Schumer have leverage to negotiate.
Instead, either because of malice or sheer fucking incompetence, he is letting his caucus fold like fucking cowards.

So it turns out... the US air travel system was incredibly, deeply dependent on federal funding to just run day-to-day all this time, to the benefit of private airline shareholders, when everyone thinks that state-run trains are leeching off the government. Weird!

Narrator's voice: "The Democrats did indeed cave"
Regular reminder that Axios stories saying Dems are about to cave are likely sourced from GOP staffers trying to make it happen.
Doesn't mean it definitely won't happen. But it's like those NYT stories that Harvard is considering caving (they haven't). The anonymous source was trying to manifest it.

agreeing to make a terrible deal while your main opponent is quite literally being boo'd on live tv by an entire stadium of people is the kind of political instinct you'd normally only find in a 3 week old dead goldfish

This is really good to see: Miki Sherrill just put out a statement sharply criticizing the Senate Dems' pending cave in the government shutdown, ripping it as "malpractice" and a betrayal of the people who are "counting on us to fight for them." Sherrill knows what drove her victory. Wake up, Dems.

Donald Trump’s approval rating has tanked and Republican suffered heavy losses in last week’s elections. There’s never been a better time for Senate Democrats to cave on the ACA extension.

THIS. The real issue (if people want to engage with real issues) is housing affordability is a problem. Last time it was this unaffordable we had Interest-Only loans, teaser rates, etc The 50yr is just another in a long line of gimmicks to make mortgage payments more affordable.
Seriously guys, as you freak out about the proposed 50 year mortgage, ask yourself how many people actually ride 30 year mortgage, unrefinanced, all the way to the end

Disagree: This is not a dream for banks. If you thought a 30yr mortgage had bad negative convexity, just wait until you have 50yr mortgages. There's nothing inherently good or bad about this from a consumer's standpoint. It's just lower amortization each month.
This is true for banks and other lenders. Game changer. They will be thrilled to keep even more of their customers’ money. For the consumer it’s a disaster.
