Just hanging out with frodo for 20 years as he annoys his cousins hell yeah

I always stop right after Tom. I blame him for why I've never finished the book.

"Hello I am basically god, and could easily stop this whole sauron thing in an afternoon after tea, but I have to sing to a tree so good luck kid, bobadee bombadoo"

Ask DNA is a great song and the opening is perfect.

SOON.

(why did the library app lose the cover thumbnail lol)

I bought RDR2 years ago and played it for two hours and hated it. I even tried to get PlayStation to refund me and they gave me a hard no.

Finally giving it another chance.

Primary because of Jack Black, honestly

I still can't believe I played through the entire game like this.

Chrono Translation!

Here's a better look at how I've been playing this game all week. What you see here is my "second screen" -- I play most of the game on my TV, and when I need to read Japanese I glance at my laptop, which is piping the game through Google Translate

I never understood why anybody paid attention to this story.

They....were all still starving? Not having those conditions wouldn't have made the absence of sufficient food more sustaining. Starvation is still starvation?

Like, you'd have to be a moron to think otherwise, and her so many do.

Why is this worth 800 billion dollars?

We are gambling with investments and the future economy and the only people who are going to come away with any benefit are the people who are already billionaires, and my child's future is going to suffer for it.

I hate where technology is right now.

When these things do provide a plausible sounding answer most the time I follow up and ask it if it's a real answer with verifiable packs or a generic statement presented as a factual answer, and it almost always confirms the latter.

These systems don't do anything.

Every time I am baited into using some AI feature, it winds up making me legitimately frustrated and kind of angry, because it usually doesn't actually give a response. It repeats my question back at me like some sort of sycophantic Yes Man.
seaniccus.com
The worst part is because it's so embedded in every feature, I'm accidentally using a bunch of AI features I would rather not be using.

Taking screenshots on my phone now has AI summaries. I don't want. Every single search has some sort of AI featured leading the results.
seaniccus.com
Eventually this AI bubble is going to pop the same way nfts and metaverse nonsense did, and what's going to happen to all these features then?
seaniccus.com
Yes, it's probably buried in the terms of service that I have no choice but to accept. If I want to have a phone, and there's probably an opt out that's buried deep in a convoluted system, no average user would encounter.
seaniccus.com
My new phone, which is actually the year old pixel 9, has a ton of AI features built in.

I don't like it. It's in my face. There's no good way to obviously turn it off, and it makes me second guess. Everything I'm doing on the phone is being processed off my device without my explicit consent.

remember this for every AI headline you read

but also keep this one in mind, too
The metaverse economy offers the potential of a wide range of revenue streams, with some estimates predicting it could become an $800 billion-dollar market in just two years and that it could contribute $3 trillion dollars to the global economy in the next decade.

I got brave and deleted it, the photos and transferred settings seem intact.
seaniccus.com
Did you transfer a lot of media? This included a ton of photos, but yeah I agree. My guess is it's supposed to delete the data, but the last step failed.
seaniccus.com
My guess is it's safe to delete and they app data is separate from the settings data transferred to the photo folders and other apps, but I'm not 100% sure?

I guess the data is still on the other phone if I'm wrong, was just hoping someone knew.

It's the new phone.

I transfered data on a brokenS21 to a new Pixel 9, and this is the app data on the Pixel 9 after the transfer

Like three days ago. If I open the app again it acts like I didn't transfer it, though.

It's in "app data," and not "cache." It it's temporary data it seems odd to me it's still there after the transfer.

I asked Google support and the guy didn't even know the app existed lol

Like I can't find this answer from any official source.

LLM chat seems confident it's fine based on general android behavior, but LLMs routinely make up nonsense and tell me the wrong thing and I zero percent trust it
