The state and city's argument is, essentially, that the facts in the protesters and press case substantially overlap with the facts relevant to this new case, and Ellis's familiarity with the facts from the first case will help significantly with judicial economy in this new case.

An armed conflict puts my kids in the middle of an even bigger war zone. So no, as much as I get the sentiment, turning MPLS into a battlefield means a lot of the good guys die, the bad guy are likely to win, and public opinion swings towards the fascists. You are absolutely correct.

hesitant to step in on this but I think people pushing for armed resistance really need to think about the goals of armed resistance and the mechanisms by which it could possibly achieve those goals.
