The present moment is no longer about politics, it's about ethics, which is more fundamental and universal than R v D or left v right.

There are people in this country who are aware of what time it is in American politics and those who are still living in the 1990s.

2025 is 1860.

In 2024 I said "this all gets real when they started going door-to-door in Hialeah" and they seem to completely misunderstand that in America we have lots of crazy paranoid people with guns. Shooting probably won't be political, just some guy convinced he's being home invaded.

Someone is totally gonna shoot an ICE agent. And what's more, they've been acting out tyrannically enough that it doesn't even have to be a nutjob. It could literally just be a terrified and/or morally outraged homeowner being illegally home invaded without a warrant.

It'd be *legal* in that case
Even if you assume that protestors exercise superhuman levels of restraint, this is a country that has culturally enshrined a fantasy of using force against people that step on your lawn. All it takes is one person to generate an incident that will serve as a pretext.

I feel like the Insurrection Act being triggered somewhere is now a default future that alternative scenarios have to be measured against
This is where it is going. This is what Stephen Miller is pushing to Trump. The only reason it has not happened yet is that the violence is obviously coming from state actors. There is no insurrection to control. But we are one incident away from Trump sending in the military.

Fish cop seeks House seat in landlocked state.
Madison Sheahan is a 28-year-old former political aide to Kristi Noem with little law enforcement experience before being named ICE Deputy Director. Prior reporting said she was mocked internally as "fish cop" because she somehow got made director of Louisiana Fish and Wildlife in 2024.

Tesla's European sales are a "total bloodbath," and exporting RHD units to India was never going to make up for such a steep drop, but even that effort is wildly underperforming... Giga Berlin is going to start gushing red ink, if it isn't already.

Should be fun!

Kennedy, obsessed with vaxxed/unvaxxed studies that would not be approved by US ethical review boards, planned to fund one in West Africa — one that would have caused unnecessary disease and death for extremely vulnerable children. After negative media attention, it was canceled. Coverage matters.
BREAKING: The controversial hepatitis B vaccine trial in Guinea-Bissau has been *cancelled,* I can now report. A senior official with Africa CDC confirmed the cancellation and said GB officials are working to make sure any research is conducted ethically:
