We are entering a deep recession brought on by Donald Trump's lawless policies as we go into Thanksgiving and Christmas.

You can stretch your money by shopping at thrift shops and yard sales and eBay for household tools and holiday gifts.

Used goods are already imported and avoid the tariffs.

"All Afghans who get visas are CIA" is a bullshit take. Plenty are Hazara trying not to get killed for being ethnic and religious minorities. Lumping all Afghan refugees together as CIA makes you no different in terms of discrimination than the MAGA types who think they are all terrorists.
Having intersectional minority identities in the West does not, unfortunately, confer enhanced appreciation of nuance in identities abroad. Non-Western experiences and identities are ignored or flattened. One even finds people weaponize their minority status in the West against minorities abroad.

No one shld lose sight of the fact that the Guard was only in DC as part of an extended political messaging stunt. The shooter is guilty for the attacks/carnage. Donald Trump is responsible for them. This is the collateral damage of Trump abusing his powers as President.
Pirro: "These Guardsmen and all who are here to protect the District are the line that separates a civilized society from a barbaric one."

Brazil approves the first vaccine against dengue. The disease killed 6000 Brazilians in 2024.

This is a really remarkable achievement. I got dengue in 2015, and even with the mild case I had, it was a really miserable experience.

Ahead of launching a war on Venezuela, the US would like to announce that no one in Venezuela should help US forces, it'd be stupid to do so, the US will denigrate you and screw you over no matter how much you help, and blame you if even one Venezuelan who also helped the US ever does something bad.

If and when Trump leaves the scene, the country will still face a daunting task:

Who can channel the disruptive political energies of a society in which the established institutions have lost the people’s trust into a (small-d) democratic direction?
November 27, 2025 at 2:42 PM
This is an opportunity for a lot of political change to happen very quickly.

What replaces the remains of a destroyed Republican party is an open question.
However, both major parties are vastly unpopular, and trust in established institutions has been declining massively.

America is not experiencing a realignment as much as it is going through a de-alignment of the established order.
