This nonsense is how radical YIMBYs are made. Objections to a new town on a former RAF base because it might impact the *view from a historic garden 2km away*. www.countrylife.co.uk/gardens/one-...
'One of the truly great gardens of the world' is at risk of having its vistas and tranquility blighted forever
The views from Rousham, the birthplace of the English landscape-garden movement, are at risk of development if plans for the nearby former RAF Upper Heyford Air Force base get the go-ahead.

Typical BBC, click bait instead of honest news. When you read the headline, you assume, £62K is for one pub, but the guy has 18 pubs and that value is the total for all. In fact, the cost rise is less than £10 a day. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
'Business rates changes will cost me £62,000', pub boss warns
Pub bosses have warned they face a sharp rise in business rates bills despite government support.

By his own standards and his insistence on scapegoating and blaming, Trump should either explain why he and his administration granted Asylum to the DC shooter suspect SEVEN MONTHS AGO, fire Noem and Homan and apologize - or Trump should resign

Net immigration is now at around the lowest sensible level. If it falls further, it will seriously damage the UK economy.
NEW: Net migration falls sharply to 204,000 in the year to June.

That’s a fall from 649,000 in the year to June 2024. It is a drop of nearly 80% from its 2023 peak.

Hong Kong police are investigating whether the scaffolding materials contributed to the high-riser buildings fire’s rapid spread in the city. Duh! Scaffolding is made of bamboo..

What a coincidence. Last week a federal judge temporarily blocked the administration from maintaining the troops in DC, finding the city was likely to succeed in arguing the deployment was illegal. President Trump today ordered deployment of 500 more troops to Washington.

The Chancellor poured venom on workers who sacrifice their bonuses into pensions, free of tax & NI contributions, saying this was “not sustainable for our public finances”. There was no acknowledgment that their behaviour is driven by a distortive cliff edge in the tax system.

• At £110,000, you pay 60%
• At £130,000, you pay 45%

That makes £100,000 to £125,140 one of the most heavily taxed income ranges in the UK system, calculated to be 2mn people.

As expected from Labour; sod the middle classes!
November 26, 2025 at 6:33 PM
I’m sure people will complain that the Chancellor has increased taxes, again, to 38% of GDP. Then again often the same people praise how everything works better in France & Germany, where it is 44% and 40%. It’s time for the country to wake up and smell the coffee.

Many are struggling to understand what “illegal orders” the members of Congress could be referring to. But we’ve already seen examples. During his first term, Trump asked, “Can’t you just shoot them? Shoot them in the legs,” referring to protesters. #holdfast
