I will read this article, if for no other reason than to find out why on earth these dudes were Venmo-ing each other.

Our review of public data exposed on Venmo accounts suggests that the Signal group chat was not an isolated mistake, but part of a broader pattern of what national security experts describe as reckless behavior by some of the most powerful people in the US government.

A WIRED review shows national security adviser Mike Waltz, White House chief of staff Susie Wiles, and other top officials left sensitive information exposed via Venmo—until WIRED asked about it.

Boy has this been a week.

May we rage when we must & rest when we can.
May we make the peace we so desperately need.
May we turn our hands, in all things, to the justice that peace requires.

The only liberation is a shared liberation. May we have courage sufficient to build it.

Shabbat shalom ❤️

I mentioned earlier that they chew on Nile Crocodiles - I wasn't kidding, baby Hippos use them as teething rings since the texture of their scales is satisfying to gum.

Just this 12' long razor-toothed archosaur, sitting there going "stay calm, Clarence, you survived the asteroid, you can do this."

As a Jewish faculty member at one of these institutions, I am saying right now, in the clearest tones possible: not in my name. This violent exploitation of Jews as an alibi for achieving Fascist ends is itself textbook antisemitism.
The Ed. Department's Office for Civil Rights sent letters to 60 additional institutions "warning them of potential enforcement actions" for "violations relating to antisemitic harassment and discrimination" including Harvard, Brown, Stanford, Princeton, UNC, and several UC's

When you compromise your values to try and win a battle and fail, you've lost not once but twice.
a maximalist strategy of opposition against every nominee as unqualified would have stood a better chance of creating the kind of public outrage that might have led to more republican defections, but i'm sure the imaginary family that chuck schumer relies on to guide his decisions disagreed
Schumer's strategy of allowing/encouraging Dems to vote for the "normal" nominees in order to try and peel off Republican defections to block Hegseth/RFK/Gabbard appears to have completely failed.
