As I understand it, the actual pinch point for the court backlog is judges. They're going after juries because they slow judges down. So why not deal with the actual pinch point, how judges are appointed and used. Is there a case for seconding judges from other legal branches to clear the backlog?

"don't have children if you can't afford them" lol it's not like getting a horse. Children are supposed to be affordable. Besides, when rich people have kids the kids become influencers or start t shirt brands and I can't think of anything worse for growth than having more of these ppl

Just imagining how much better it would be if ALL news stories about vaccine-preventable illnesses were illustrated with pictures of people with the disease, not pictures of needle injections. If you must show something that people will find scary & unpleasant, make it the disease, not the cure.
I'm so tired of measles.

I'm also tired of people using needle shots on stories like this.

Today for #Sarahs60 I'm moving to sharing some things I've done. Specifically my Blog heritagefortransformation.wordpress.com/thoughts-spa... Its a bit dormant, quite eclectic, but heritage focused. Posts aren't properly cited, which I sometimes regret, but they do have links. So, 6 blog posts

This is true for many of the 'use cases' of AI. If your process has multiple meaningless steps that can be fine automatically, perhaps they don't need to be done at all. Most bureaucratic systems have developed over time through many technical and social changes, they don't make sense
I can understand why complex bureaucratic processes like REF are seen as use cases for AI: but this is often a false solution. Better to streamline, simplify, or even abolish the processes themselves.
REF 2029 ‘must get grip on AI or risk losing credibility’.

Lies, damned lies and the Telegraph. They posted CSJ figures using an outrageously false comparison of 2 cases. It claimed a benefits family were better off by £18k than a working household when the real figure was £16k worse off. The details benefitsinthefuture.com #benefits #budget

So instead of analysis of the implications of the budget for ordinary people, we have just got an extended psychodrama on whether the Chancellor misled the country by - essentially - preparing the markets for worse than expected economic figures by talking about her options.
