I was a Poli Sci major. BA, so I had to take some fine arts. Chose theater, auditioned for a play, got a role. As a result, I don’t freeze up when public speaking (I’m in sales). I specialized in E Euro govt. my customers are in Hungary & Poland, they appreciate my knowledge of their countries.
This is actually a good example of why the customer model is wrong.
I wouldn't have chosen poetry writing, but UNC made me take a class. And it absolutely made me become a much better writer, with an eye to concision and an ear now trained to the rhythm of words. I'm a better historian as a result.

If you are providing me with an education that is low utility in the world then it’s a disservice. My composition class spent four weeks on poetry. I’m sorry, but that only would’ve been useful if I wanted to be a poet. I don’t need to know iambic pentameter in order to be a victim advocate.

I am so fucking tired of “journalists” asking a question of a Republican, the Republican saying “I’m not familiar with this case,” and the interview continuing. End the interview. If your GOP “expert” claims to be ignorant of facts, then they’re not an expert. Call someone able to discuss the facts.

For Xmas decorations, we have 2 white boards in our yard. Each day we have a different Advent Calendar Dad Joke. I see parents driving kids home from school and stopping to read the joke of the day. I’ve seen school bus drivers stop and read the joke to the kids. Kids look forward to the jokes.
