This is going to create huge privacy issues for all of us because, presumably, we'll all have to prove we're over 16, which will mean sharing an ID. Does anyone have any confidence in their ability to keep our info secure?

Over the years I've spoken on behalf of the nurses union, or as a nurse at countless protests. Today I spoke at the #BlockTheBan protest in Tamaki in response to our government banning puberty blockers for trans kids. Unlike any other protest I've spoken at, this time I was immediately in tears.

Someone who bought a frog facts advent calendar for a friend's kid last year just emailed me.

Apparently that kid got a different advent calendar this year, and when he opened it he said, “These are HORRIBLE! They’re not teaching me anything about frogs!”

This kid gets it.
