One of the things I do miss most about browsing in libraries.

The accidental exposure to something radically new or more fascinating than originally thought.
The best part of libraries was going into the stacks to find one book and then getting distracted by 11 other books that looked more interesting than the one you were looking for

Hi y'all - let's show up for this couple. They're going through a lot for any time, and extra awful around the holidays as everyone around you is celebrating.
They have no PayPal, her daughter has CashApp ONLY.

Do we have 8 moots with CashApp who could swing $50 apiece [or any other combination thereof]? This couple has been through so much, and can't catch a break.

CashApp $Maripoza2005. Let me know so I can track progress.

Trump cares not.

ETTD, including the National Guard.
A U.S. soldier was executed on the streets of the U.S. capital, yet the flags remain at full-staff.

But when a hate-peddling podcaster was killed, the flags were lowered to half-staff within hours—and stayed that way for days.

WTH?

Geology is an amazing time machine.

Every answer leads to new questions, & we learn more about deep time.
Cobble-sized rocks fill hard sandstone conglomerate that makes up the Carmelo Formation near Monterey, CA. This was once a deep underwater canyon that collected river rocks that came down from the ancestral Sierra Nevadas.

A woman passenger was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries.

News media has to do better with headlines that present false and unverified public health claims.

The Channel Islands fox crash was a whole-ecosystem trophic cascade: invasive fennel sheltered feral pigs, attracting golden eagles after DDT wiped out bald eagles. Golden eagles preyed on foxes, pushing them toward extinction. Removing fennel and pigs led to one of the fastest ESA delistings.🦊
And let's not overlook the ever-adorable Channel Islands Fox -- now recovered to a fairly healthy population on Santa Rosa Island and several of the Channel Islands NP.

The MAGA policy of "We enjoy ruining the lives of our own people" requires serious electoral backlash.

This must be our guiding principle from now on.

Keep beating them at the ballot box until Republicans start loving our country again instead of trashing it.
