after some months without any progress i made some more work on bionator. i'm finally in that point in the game i can create levels that are just evil.
also fixed lots of stuff in the game and gave the main jump physics some tweaks.
Created more enemy types and a new boss.

It may be hard to get the sense of scale when you can zoom out and see the whole map, so once in a while I pretend that I'm sailing on a boat! At a speed of 8m/s, it really shows how massive the world is. Here it takes 7 minutes to reach the shore.

So I made the smallest game I could.

This is sapito, a tiny daily classic roguelike, with a new level every day. Super simple, but finished! My plan is to keep updating it over time.

Being at your computer on the floor, working on something you like, sounds like a great idea.
But unfortunately there’s no position that works after 5 minutes.
Lying down on your stomach, or sitting cross legged… I would be great, but it can’t be done.

Spent some time today on a visual overhaul

* Tweaked the contrast, saturation etc.
* Added some bloom and motion blur (classic)
* Added a neat blur effect when the UI overlay appears when you pause/die/win etc.

Am I procrastinating? Maybe ...

The challenge in an action game isn't just about execution, doing the right sequence, timing.
That is important but the first factor is that you need to read the screen as fast as possible.

When you don’t play regularly, you lose your skills. I failed on the second boss.
Alexus 2040 is available on iOS and Android.

Zyphatron's teleport sequence is now complete. On this project I'm looking to complete features as I do them, rather than improve the features with subsequent iterations. Might work, might not.

Chess is very hard. But to me (at a low level), the one thing that makes the most difference is to train your brain to think a certain way, following a process, which isn't our natural way. Like a re-education.

There's something ironic about the fact that I make games for a living and it can take years, then my son has been trying Roblox studio and makes a game in 1 hour or less.
It's the contrast that makes your head spin.
