The great paradox of 2026 SF: There’s plenty of people who would do this for a bit, and there’s just as many people who would do this with a straight face.
A new group is advertising a "March for Billionaires" in San Francisco next weekend, starting in wealthy Pac Heights.

The group says a planned California billionaire tax would hit "value creators" who are "building, not taking."

Is it satire?

Kat Abughazaleh is the only political campaign I’ve donated to this campaign cycle.

Regardless of whether she wins her primary (and AIPAC are spending heavily to try to stop her), funding shit like this feels like a productive investment of my money.
I'm Kat Abughazaleh and I approve this message.

Performance reviews are the scorecard of capitalism. They measure your value to that org at that moment. No more, no less.
The goalposts move with market forces. What matters is: are you actually growing?

More than 200,000 Danish citizens have signed a petition to buy California as a response to Trump’s attempt to take Greenland.

They say they will provide Californians with “rule of law, universal health care, fact-based politics, and a lifetime supply of Danish pastries.”

I had to look up Lizardman's Constant: the 4% of people who will tell a pollster lizard people are taking over the world, ie the minimum answer you will get for even the most absurd question.
"Do you think it would be a good idea or a bad idea for the U.S. to use military force to take possession of Greenland from Denmark?"
Good idea: 4%
Bad idea: 71%
(Ipsos)

4%. He did it. He finally hit Lizardman's Constant.

This was trampled with traffic on Jan 1st, but I just went through the registration successfully.

The deletion process will start in August, but completing your the form now will get your info dropped during the first batch.
If you are a resident of California, the state now has a portal where you can demand deletion of your personal data from 500+ registered data brokers with a single request form, for free.

I wish I could quote this with enormous flashing neon lights shouting “THIS!”.

Machine learning has been with us for decades and is an invaluable tool for domain specific evaluation. That it’s now endlessly mixed up with AI LLMs is unbelievably infuriating.

"Libraries have shifted a lot in the last 10 years...It's not a silent space. Which I think is, in many ways, for the best."
