I've given up teh fight against typos. Deal w/ it. Multiply disabled GenX Cdn. Not as interesting as I used to be, but I can still keep myself entertained. Equality; UBI; gardens, seed saving; books; houseplants; art; music; writing; cooking. #Resist

Health Canada puts out guidelines recommending N95s and clean indoor air!

Let’s do this!

Yes it’s overdue, and no it doesn’t address every risk factor, but we can significantly curb COVID with respirator use and clean air.

Unjust laws should always be challenged. The first time I protested something like that, I was around 12 years old. There's a difference between an individual law and a system of laws. Both can be flawed, but it is important to note that the rule of law and a legal statute are not the same thing.
Would be super awesome, if in your fight against fascism, you *included disabled people*, often the first to feel the effects of fascism, by doing the simple task of adding alt text to your posts. I've asked before, and been ignored before, so I don't hold much hope - but I see you ignoring us.

4B looking for support in Edmonton as cold weather sets in. πŸ₯Ά

These folks do a lot of frostbite treatment and prevention among communities subjected to it by state abuse at the hands of police for the benefit of developers.

Are you an American? Read this thread.

Are you an activist?
Read this thread.

Are you a fan of freedom, democracy, the rule of law? Are you wondering what comes next? What you can do?
Read this thread.
(🧡) I’m going to say some things that may cost me followers. That’s only appropriate, given that what I say in this thread is about exactly that: how utterly meaningless everything is right now besides saving Americaβ€”because without rule of law and democracy, nothing we dream of will ever come true.
Who's in?
Heads up: We will be calling for a National Economic Blackout on Black Friday (11/28). Please join us as we suspend all economic activity on the most important shopping day of the year. Spread the word about Black(out) Friday.

Halisky, did anyone witness this:
It's so hard to see some of the people w/ the least giving up the most. I am thankful for the efforts of everyone who is doing what they can. Which makes it even harder to accept those that aren't doing anything, even though they *could* - just because they just value their comfort more. Thank you.
Americans, WTF? Are you for real? I see posts saying daily action for democracy is unrealistic because daily protests would "lose their oomph" and protestors "will get bored", and claims there aren't daily protests because "organizers are too lazy."

American grit doesn't apply to saving democracy?
Georgia has been protesting daily for almost a year! Tibet changed the course of their history in one year. People are claiming *protest organizers are lazy. Okay. Don't wait for them. Just show up. Because just showing up is more effective anyway. 1/2
So many places around the world putting in more effort than most Americans. 7 M showed up. That means 335 M did not. So yeah, by far, most Americans aren't doing much. The ones that are, and there are some who are doing a great deal, can't make headway at this pace. It's just not enough. Yet.
Exactly. If people are expecting change at this pace pr protest, expecting the change to be against democracy, not for it. Republicans are putting in full effort to dismantle it every day. Those who want to save the USA need to *at least* match that effort.
Agreed! People are already losing their livelihoods. Some are losing much more. Everyone is going to suffer loss. It's a matter of whether they are going to fight it and risk loss, but gain *the possibility of change*, or not fight it, risk loss, and things definitely get worse.
When? What will it take to motivate that? If it hasn't happened so far, how bad does it have to get? "If we need"? It's long past that. All the world can see it, except Americans. France would've never let it get this far. They had bigger protests over the government trying to raise retirement age.
Americans don't seem to think that applies to them. They work. They need medical coverage. They can't afford to lose their job. They're scared. So, they can't take action every day. Like folks in other places don't have the same worries & fears. They have all the same worries, but the fight anyway.
Every. Single. Day. The current pace of resistance is far outmatched by the Republicans destruction. The resistance has a lot of catching up to do.
It should have been this way months ago. They are working *daily* to destroy everything. How can democracy be saved when they work every day against it, but major resistance is once a month? Or less.
