two holds came in today so now I have four audiobooks. Seems like a lot, but they're two week loans and I've listened to four in the past week...

This week’s library love? A grandmother. “My grandchild loves Wonderbooks.” Wonderbooks/Vox are a book with a speaker in the front so you can read and hear at the same time. Genius for growing a reader. #libraries #audiobooks

If going regularly is challenging and/or you prefer screen reading over physical books, most libraries offer digital books through phone apps like CloudLibrary and Libby. I've listened to dozens of free audiobooks that I never would have been able to (or think to) buy thanks to these apps.

I finished Separation of Church and Hate + enjoyed it. Loved the levity used throughout the book. I was pleasantly surprised to hear Prof. Anthea Butler’s book referenced + to hear Bryan Stevenson mentioned as well.

Next Up: 107 Days

I’ve been loving audiobooks lately. Currently listening to Glow, fourth book in the Plated Prisoner series by Raven Kennedy. Wasn’t sure if I was into this series after the first two books but the third really grabbed my attention. The finale of Gleam was so good.

❤️‍🔥

i Have books have not read?

The attacks make them impossible to read.

Forget listening to my audiobooks, they ruined my Bluetooth speakers and headphones. TV can be painful.

I did find the prayer book. It’s digital and has many old prayers.

I pray them, Holiness.

My library! They have an app that gives you access to their ebooks and audiobooks. Once you get to Seattle you should look at getting a library card, cus they likely have a similar service, and their catalogue is probably Huge

I'm just going to ignore your requested preference and toss the "Dungeon Crawler Carl" series by Matt Dinniman at you. The Audiobooks of it are even better than reading it. Its LitRPG, hilarious, and addictive.

A couple audiobooks I listened to recently, the experience of which was elevated immeasurably by the narrators: A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, read by Harry Lloyd (the actor who played Viserys in A Game of Thrones), and An Agent Running in the Field, read by John Le Carre himself--amazing.

Our library used Cloud Library. I download tons of audiobooks in English and French, and even some in Finnish.

What service do you use for Audiobooks? It’s how I’ve been going through most of the trilogy series I’m on and I got it free through Spotify, but Lycan and I have dropped that.

I only got into it on second try and after I warmed up to audiobooks before. Now I listen to it while driving mostly; a few kilometers of autobahn is just right for that kind of entertainment

A long time ago, when I was cautiously pessimistic instead of firmly anti-GenAI, we had a conversation about AI audiobooks and I signed up for one of the main AI text to speech services with a trial account to see what it could really do.

The results were somewhat surprising.

I stopped reading too, it put me to sleep. Years went by, then I picked up non fiction and I was off to the races. The old man reads slower than I do, I'm a fast reader. Audiobooks feel slow to me.
