Am out and about in 'middle England'. People are not in a permanent frothing rage, in fact bar a few grumbles about late buses they seem quite happy.

At some point we might want to wonder whether it isn't just children who should have limits on their screen time.

Merry gentlefolk, it is time.

Today is the day.

Today is comma-mas.

Today is the day where we contemplate the correct placing of the comma in 'God rest you merry, gentlemen'.

And if we are lucky, we can have a row about it.

Because our politics is in such a terrible place, I think we downplay quite how awful Kemi Badenoch has been.

In any other era the leader of the Conservatives saying 'only migrants commit sex crimes - mass deportations now' would have not just been career ending but would've sunk the whole party

Even by my low expectations for Kemi Badenoch ‘violence against women and girls is something done by immigrants and nobody else’ has shocked me.
Dog-whistle and factually incorrect. Ladies, raise your hand if you were sexually assaulted by a boy at school? I’d wager this or a family member is most women’s first experience of sexual violence

So finally this weary football supporter looked to see what “xG“ - “expected goals” - actually meant.

What were these impressive sounding, precise statistics being banded about by ever-so-earnest, knowing pundits?

The answer?

Utter pseudo-scientific subjective flapdoodle.

Australia are just a better team. But also England have royally screwed this up and it’s wildly disappointing but not that surprising. A combination of emotions I’ve been getting very used to in recent years. #Ashes

About 2-3 times a year I get suddenly and irrationally furious at the Busted lyric “not much has changed but they live underwater”.

SOUNDS LIKE A PRETTY BIG FUCKING CHANGE TO ME, BUSTED. I AM NOT SURE WHY YOU’RE DOWNPLAYING IT JUST TO PERVE ON MY DESCENDENT.

Anyway, today is one of those days.

I'm glad Keir Starmer has listened to our calls for this inquiry following the Reform Russian bribery scandal.

Nigel Farage should be the first to give evidence.
🚨 BREAKING: Keir Starmer has launched a formal investigation into foreign election interference

It comes after former Reform UK Welsh Leader Nathan Gill was sentenced to over 10 years in prison last month for making pro-Russia statements for bribes

No idea what telly Lord Sewell is watching, because I can't think of a single show with this plotline let alone it being something that is inescapable for young white men who subsequently now face a crisis of masculinity drawing them to the far right?? 🙃
