The children that his people kidnapped?
The most ignorant and ill-informed House Speaker in American history speaks again.
Q: Are you worried about extremist pro-Hitler sentiment among young Republicans?

JOHNSON: No. I don't know who any of these people are. I've never heard of them. Somebody posted a photo of me standing next to these guys wearing tuxedos. It was at the inauguration, people were coming up for selfies

Someone should let her know that she is currently the chair of the (normally) powerful Senate Appropriations Committee and do a lot more than weakly protest this shit.
Sen. Susan Collins says the White House should try to get their proposed spending cuts into appropriations bills.

“This end run is not helpful,” she says.

Collins adds that it “would be helpful” to reopening the govt if WH and OMB’s Russ Vought stop the rescissions.

SCOTUS conservative justices say you can engage in racial profiling in immigration stops but can’t consider race under Voting Rights Act to remedy centuries of racial discrimination

Sotomayor: "race is *always* a part of redistricting efforts."

Thank you. See, the Republicans are trying to gaslight people by suggesting they're for "no race in gerrymandering." That's just not true. Race is ALWAYS a factor when you're drawing a map.
Anytime any reporter asks something that hints at any wrongdoing by a member his party, who is also a member of the organization that he purports to lead, Mike Johnson hasn’t seen or heard of it. He seems to be a Federal employee who’s very bad at his job.
Q: A judge in Florida issued a restraining order against Cory Mills for threatening and harassing his ex-girlfriend. Do you think this is an ethical violation?

MIKE JOHNSON: I have not heard or looked into the details of that. I've been a little busy.
Grifters gonna grift.
lol. He doesn’t have a boat or a ski chalet to host them at.

We’re supposed to believe that the Speaker of the House doesn’t know about the specific of RIFs carried out by the Administration on Friday. A routine clause of appropriations acts requires congressional notification of such actions. Wouldn’t take much for a reporter to point this out.
REPORTER: We know the president moved forward with mass layoffs. We're also learning there were significant cuts to staff at special education services. Are you comfortable with those cuts?

MIKE JOHNSON: I haven't seen the specifics of that and I don't know

“No Kings” is great , but we really don't get a functioning democracy back until we internalize, bone deep, the instinctive response to this and every other statement like it: “I don’t care what that rich guy thinks.”

Make it your morning affirmation. Say it ten times at the top of every hour.

Agreed! And I spent my career in service to both of those notions!
…not because they’re old, per se, but because they are so steeped in a political culture that no longer exists. While they’re are exceptions (like Jamie Raskin) compare their reactions to people like Jasmine Crockett, AOC, and Maxwell Frost.
I think a lot of folks politically have had trouble adjusting to the fact that institutional guardrails haven’t held up, and I get it to a certain extent. What’s inexcusable is that we were all warned. Back to your original point, having the opposition party run by octogenarians isn’t helping…
There isn’t a whole lot she could have done institutionally re the Guard and the MPD takeover but her saying “thanks for the help” was an abject failure to meet the moment and to represent the views of the overwhelming majority who DC residents who oppose and resent the occupation of our streets.
Haha. Been in the area since ‘99 and in the District since ‘01. From TX, I might add.

As for Bowser, I think that she thinks she’s doing the right thing to protect DC. It’s true that she has a lot less power than other mayors or governors but for me she has done a poor of using her bully pulpit.
Haha Kojo is cagey. They’ve been taking about the “will she/won’t she” saga for a few weeks now on his Friday show and he’s maintained an air of neutrality.

I agree with your larger point. I’ve already decided who I’m voting for to replace her. I just hope it’s not a vote “against* her.
As one of her constituents I have enormous respect for that she’s done for DC and I would hate to see her legacy tarnished. Folks who follow local politics around here do expect that she won’t run again.

This sucks. A lot.

I know from my own experience doing it— it is NOT expensive to pay humans to do this. I got invaluable development working there. As did countless others.

But hey look at that, here’s a feedback form in case you also think it sucks www.mlssoccer.com/feedback/rec...
I thought that was in!
If we didn’t know the commentators weren’t on the stadium before…
Yeah. A little grim. Still, it’s early and a win today puts them right back in the mix, at least for CL spots.
To be fair, Gym Jordan has a LOT of practice feigning ignorance.
Jim Jordan after he's played clips from videos of ICE brutalizing people, including American citizens: "I don't know the specifics of those examples you gave. What I do know is these ICE agents are under tremendous pressure ... I think they're doing a good job."
