this is actually a REALLY interesting history, as it shows how the fight for trans existence is not, as Ari might believe, inextricably linked to a bourgeois society, and how other frameworks than a bourgeois rights-based framework can be *broadly* more successful than the one we have here

we are not cannon fodder for "revolutionary fantasies" any more than sylvia rivera was cannon fodder for queer liberation. we are its beating heart. every trans person is proof that humanity can know itself better, can express its joy, can live authentically and with intent. we ARE a revolution.

spooky season

a ziggy-like comic. our man, in his trademark hat and overcoat, is sitting on his couch watching a blaring television while enjoying a bowl of popcorn, even feeding a piece of it to his precious goldfish, Rosco, whose bowl (replete with castle) is propped up on several couch cushions. the lighting is dark, only lit up by the screen.

our guy says, "What a MOVIE, huh, Rosco? thank god there are no REAL monsters"

this speech bubble is cutoff by a group of police men who had smashed through the door and are wielding, and pointing, guns of various makes. they're all in riot helmets with knee-high leather boots on. one has fumbled the ram they used to break in the door. one has thrown a smoke grenade towards the tv. screaming incoherently, we read their banter: HANDSHANDSHANDS and FREEZEFREEZEFREEZE and DOG! DOG! DOG!

And the boa had Hitler's mustache. I showed it to my boss at the syndicate and he says, "How dare a 19-year-old like you do a cartoon like that? What do you know?" I says "Well, I was raised in an area where you had a lot of gangsters. I know what gangsters do. Hitler's gonna want war. You start jumpin' around and giving him what he wants, he's gonna feed on your weakness." And Hitler wanted more and more until there was a face-off.

i hate shaving even more than i like being smooth
