Galaxy brain who just wants to brunch
I don’t even know what to do with art history as a field anymore. Sure, hold the association of Latin American art triennial conference in Seattle in 2026! Seems like you really want non US American scholars to come!

ALL you have to do is just not use it, tell these companies you aren't using it, and make fun of people who do. We need a mass collective effort to make genAI extremely uncool, lame, embarrassing, cringe. Everyone needs to react to it with a MOUNTAIN of hostility until they run out of steam.

Sure, they've made an environmentally catastrophic mass hallucination disinformation plagiarism Clippy that will destabilize the world, but also their other goal is to replace human workers entirely and let us humans starve. A boycott of AI is the most important boycott of your entire life.
"All of this falls apart if humans don't adopt the tech. This is why you've seen Meta cram its lame chatbots into WhatsApp and Instagram. This is why Notepad and Paint now have useless Copilot buttons on Windows. This is why Google Gemini wants to "help you" read and reply to your emails."
Analysis: OpenAI is a loss-making machine, how can it survive?
Don't call it a bubble! Loss-making monster OpenAI is on the hook for $1.4 trillion (with a T) in compute commitments. How can this go on?

The cat's been taking her chemo once every other day and prednisolone twice a day for four months. Three days ago she said NO MORE. Now my life is a constant battle with an 8-pound cat. I just slathered the chemo in salmon cream cheese and she made direct eye contact while she licked the pill clean.

It’s remarkable how many people believe you can’t have consistent ethics because they don’t.

I am not sure what this confession does other than demonstrate that when a company is bad and you know it clap your hands and don‘t buy shit from them before during and after a strike.
I accidentally crossed the Starbucks picket line twice this past week. I really didn't mean to!

Kathy Hochul showing that she knows she’s up for re-election before 2030.
Kathy Hochul showing more of a moral compass than @kirstengillibrand.bsky.social (the woman who first started using this particular slur against Zohran Mamdani)
On @allinwithchris.bsky.social Gov Kathy Hochul responds to Rep Elise Stefanik’s repeated assertions that Zohran Mamdani is a “jihadist”:

“She’s full of shit.”

Today there was an attempted ICE raid in Bensonhurst & community members showed up. Even though NYPD collaborated with ICE by trying to disburse the crowd; community members stood their ground & ICE left without kidnapping a single person per the rapid response groups I'm on. We protect us!

They kidnapped a mayors daughter to stop police reforms
This piece makes it sound totally normal that the police gets to decide whether or not to "work with" Mamdani as mayor, and it continues, as nearly all the paper's coverage, to wield normative terms like "moderate" and left" in a prejudicial way. www.nytimes.com/2025/11/16/n...

Last night I was thinking about what we call "lower-order thinking skills" like recalling or memorizing and how we've completely devalued them in favor of "higher-order thinking skills" like creating, and something came out of my mouth that surprised me: "We've stopped teaching people to remember."
