I spent a rainy yesterday tending the wood stove and video gaming. It felt so good that I think I'm going to repeat it. It's science. I need a representative sample of days to make the assertion that this is a good way to spend a day.

And they were gone so fast, I got flash glimpses of grey and then....nothing. Was as if they'd never existed. Never saw them again and I rode those woods daily.

I've thought the same. Once jumped a log in the woods and came down in the midst of a flock of guinea fowl. Poor horse. Front hooves hit the ground, guineas began honking and he went immediately straight back up in the air. Exciting times!!

But I got to watch one incredible impromptu rodeo. :)

The pigs were different. Horses smelled them and dead stopped. The pigs kept coming. We didn't want to teach the horses to run from them but...
One person had her dog. Obnoxious beast but, he took off after the pigs and solved the problem.

Twice, while riding through the woods, I have found myself in the midst of other animals. Deer will run from human steps but horse hooves don't ping their radar. Was with a group and suddenly there were half asleep deer springing up under horse bellies. I was lucky. My horse was dead calm.

Was once riding in Missouri, behind Ft. Leonard Wood, and found ourselves in the midst of a group of wild pigs. Woo boy, did things get interesting fast. :D

But, if you read, it's the veggie protein stuff that's the problem. Lots of plants isolate minerals from the soil. The whey protein is safe.
