Agreed. It's a surprise to me to see him take this one on, but I'm cautiously hopeful that this may be more of a marketing issue. I've enjoyed quite a lot of his work; I find it hard to imagine he'd churn out some racist tripe. Only time will tell

...mixed or Asian heritage. I say mixed because I think the value in telling stories about Betsy when she was in Psylocke's body comes from the cultural discrepancy and body dysmorphia that this white woman would have (otherwise you just tell stories about Kwannon before the body swap).
redbreastedrobyn.bsky.social
Yeah, I'm inclined to say that the title alone flags some alarm bells. What do you mean Kwannon gets the tagline "Ninja" when a white woman is inhabiting her body.

I don't think telling a story in this time frame is bad per se, but it seems like the sort of thing you really want someone of...

I think we really should stop using antifa and just fully say anti-fascist and get them saying they are against anti fascism. Using antifa is giving them some distance and I genuinely think some of their base don’t even know that’s what it stands for.

Thank you! Trying to commit to learning Japanese. I've used Busuu for Spanish before but didn't know they had Japanese. Really appreciate the help 🥰
redbreastedrobyn.bsky.social
Can I ask what resource(s) you used to start learning Japanese?

Has there ever been a hot transphobe? It feels like transphobia is just real bad for one's complexion 🤔

One of the unexpected signs of aging in a digital era is taking longer to scroll through your feed as you try to discern meaning from context clues.

The number of posts I read now where I have no clue of the context increases daily. I'm just not up to date with most discourse anymore 🙈

Twitter is for nazis, Meta refuse to stop showing me transphobic content & the CEO of BlueSky mocks people for having concerns about transphobia being platformed here?

Is there any social media platform that isn't blatantly anti-trans? I just want to connect with people without feeling like a freak

Does anyone have any recommendations for recent/current/upcoming (non big two) comics worth checking out?

I'm usually reading comics years out from publication, and it'd be nice to look at work that's fresh off the press, for once

I'm currently halfway through Leech by @hironennes.bsky.social and I cannot recommend this book enough! It is puzzling, horrifying and immensely satisfying.

I'm struggling to put this book down, almost like there's a black tendril behind my eye compelling me to keep reading...
The cover of Leech by Hiron Ennes. It shows a flask with dark blue liquid inside and the backdrop of a chateau, whilst black and red tendrils spread outwards from the top of the flask.

This whole section really.
Finally: AI cannot do your job, but an AI salesman can 100% convince your boss to fire you and replace you with an AI that can't do your job, and when the bubble bursts, the money-hemorrhaging "foundation models" will be shut off and we'll lose the AI that can't do your job, and you will be long gone, retrained or retired or "discouraged" and out of the labor market, and no one will do your job.
AI is the asbestos we are shoveling into the walls of our society and our descendants will be digging it out for generations:

An obvious choice is Jean Grey, but I'd love to see her daughter, Rachel Summers. Rachel doesn't get enough love imo and it'd be so interesting to see a butch woman in this style!!!!

The obvious trans parallels with Dax's story was so important to me in the 90s, even if I didn't understand why. Easily my favourite Star Trek character.

Which character permanently altered your brain chemistry?

The first episode of DS9 I ever saw involved Dax talking about one of her previous lives. I didn't know how Trill worked, and just saw this beautiful woman talking about how she used to be a man and a father. I was FASCINATED.
