I know it’s scary, but you don’t have to do this. I know you don’t want to do this. Remember your oath. It’s not to a man. It’s to the Constitution and the People of the United States of America.

You are one of the few groups of people who can stop this madness.

@gavinnewsom.bsky.social is a massive disappointment. If he can’t even stop this, how can he imagine anyone thinking he can be president one day?

This is so weak.
California National Guard troops have now arrived in LA from San Bernardino County.

They’re posted outside the downtown LA detention centre where immigrants are sent after being detained.

I wrote about Sinners.

Watching so many Black folk call the film "demonic", I explain how its central horror -- and triumph is that the film casts Black/African spirituality as an effective challenge to Western Christianity.

I’m not arguing for assault. I’m just saying that people can say “hey, you’re not welcome here.”

Not even a controversial statement to say that if white people wanted this to stop badly enough it would. Not even a controversial statement to say that among the voting populace it is white people's fault it's gone this far.

And if you're white and that offends you it's because a hit dog hollers.

One tiny note that I haven't seen anyone mention:

Musk's statement, "I've never done anything harmful; I've only ever been productive" carries (and relies upon) the unstated assumption 'anything that is productive cannot be harmful.'

We can't allow this shit to go uninterrogated.

If one thing gives me a little bit of optimism in This Current Era, it’s that we have mounting reminders that citizens can be the mechanism that forces the FIND OUT phase upon those who dared FUCK AROUND.
Target’s stock plummeted by ~ $27.27 per share by the end of February, erasing about $12.4 billion in market value.

The drop came on Feb. 28, the designated economic blackout day, and coincided with mounting backlash over the retailer’s decision to abandon its DEI commitments.

As we watch the GOP dismantle the federal government with swift urgency, we must acknowledge the reason we are here is Dems do not move with that urgency.

When Roe was overturned, Dems held the House, Senate, and White House.

Instead of codifying Roe, they fundraised off of it.
