100% this. I've been doing this for over a decade now. It has steadily, but slowly, gotten worse throughout that entire time, but I've seen a substantial decline in the last 1-1.5 years to the point that I am constantly rethinking everything I do. And the worst part is I don't see a way out of it.
An issue we're seeing at all levels of university is that many students are simply refusing to do *anything*. They aren't reading the syllabus, aren't following assignment guidelines, aren't engaging with material, ignoring deadlines. And this might seem like old news, but it truly has ramped up.
