The incident is marks the third straight day that federal agents have deployed tear gas against Chicagoans and the seventh time in 22 days.
Video from a photographer for the @chicagotribune.com:
Border patrol agents deployed tear gas on the 3700 block of North Kildare where residents say a landscape worker, a resident, and a woman on a bike were detained. Video from a resident.

The story here should be the fleecing insurance companies have gotten away with and that has been enabled and exacerbated by government subsidies.

Here's a gift link to the New York Times' coverage of the initial Tea Party rallies in April 2009 which inspired the media to treat it like a massive movement.

Check out how tiny the crowds were:

Philly: 200
DC: "several hundred"
Boston: 500
Austin: 1,000
Houston: 2,000

Gentle reminder that should a general strike happen, it’s crucial to plan and establish robust networks of community care.

There will be people, especially within the disability community, who can’t participate.

Who have needs that must be met.

Let’s make sure we figure out how to include them!

Please share, 17 hours left ⚠️ One of our emergency goals is for winter clothes. Most of these six families are kids, and ALL of the families have been repeatedly displaced and had to leave belongings behind. Last winter was deadly for children exposed to cold.

Help them. It matters. 126/1000

This is the best political news I’ve seen in a very long time — so please pass it on👇

Each state can limit Citizens United in their own state & they don’t have to wait for other states to do it.

Listen to this nurse: when families can’t afford food or rent, doubling their health premiums will push them off insurance. Communities will suffer. People will die.

And what did Republicans do?
They shut down the government and took a vacation.

NEW: There’s a disaster unfolding in Alaska right now. And no major network is covering it.

The remnants of Typhoon Halong battered western Alaska overnight. Homes, with people in them, have literally been swept into the Bering Strait.

At least 20 are missing. No comment from any federal agency.

Who would have thought that 25 times as many people would be getting their daily news updates from a Boston College history professor (Heather Cox Richardson, who has 2.5 million subscribers) than from the Washington Post.

The New York Essential plan is being eliminated entirely next year due to the GOP healthcare cuts. People’s lives are at stake.

And that’s why we’re fighting back.

The medication stockpile bill is the bill I had pegged this year as the most important kind of bill to pass given federal threats, with a short time window to make it happen. Washington passed the same bill earlier this year.

It's so shameful for Newsom to veto this bill.
1. Yesterday, the press gave Gavin Newsom favorable coverage for signing pro-LGBTQ+ bills.

Little noticed, however, was that he vetoed one of the most important ones: a bill allowing trans people 12 month HRT stockpiles, protecting them from federal threats.

The bill would have allowed transgender people to maintain a safe supply of medication in the era of government crackdowns on care.

No, they're too big! the largest one is the size of a football field, located just outside the walls at the Porta Santa Maria; huge tents are occupying the entirety of several plazas. Small tents are set up for about a kilometer of the top of the walls. (First photo on top, next two below).
