that is an interesting thought

i suspect that the film cameras themselves are so heavy that it is only a moderate change and the human camera operators and cranes probably handled it just fine

it would be a much bigger issue to use film with modern lightweight gimbals though for sure

every fucking time i look at somebody and feel suspiciously some kinda way it turns out they are non-binary femme

seriously it is getting to be a meme

i am bi and have a pretty wide aesthetic range but nb femmes are like the calcium channel right into my bloodstream

why not switch back to vanilla Vim entirely?

NeoVim does have a few things that make it nicer for me and some of the Lua plugins are (relatively) stable and do things that are not well served in vimscript-land

i do maintain a separate Vim fallback config though and use it when NeoVim breaks

i moved to Codium, which disables most LLM stuff by default, but honestly i do not know if i will really bother transitioning my setup to it

i am reverting a lot of "fancy" (AKA broken) NeoVim Lua plugins back to vimscript plugins that do the same thing so i can have a stable setup once again

so i have been switching back and forth between VS Code and NeoVim over the last few years

but the other day i launched VS Code - mostly to use its git extension - and was greeted with half of my screen being taken over by some LLM chat bullshit

i immediately deleted VS Code, seriously, i am tired

i have had a long journey to getting NeoVim in a reasonable state, it is just so messy, and the way people build plugins for it is very different than Vim

and by different i do mean worse

the odds that they will break something or abandon it is astronomical and most of them require a ton of setup

clearly so much work has gone into Crowd Control's pre-production and production cycles

i get that an editor can forget what survived into the final cut, brains are like that, but there should be other people reviewing it before it goes out - and they would notice
