America was shitty and a large part of that was because it was settled by shitty Europeans and we took their shit with us. It's also been one of the leaders in acknowledging that, and yes it's been pretty bad at that too, but that should tell you how bad other countries are.

I think it fits better with the Korean protest signs everyone was talking about a while back. It's refusing to let the protests be defined by the black blocers that do more harm than good. It's knowing that protest is a war of images and that most people aren't out to demolish capitalism or whatever

I don't think it's fair to lump the costumes and the right's shitposting. Frogs on every corner is bringing joy to the protests and making the response look just as grossly overmilitarized as it is, but even fighting a less insane enemy, costumes at protests is always joyous and appreciated.

So you get these 4-6 hour demands on the candidate where they see 4-5 different engineers for an hour each instead of larger block of time where real conversations could be had. Hell, larger companies even do this for like director positions! (but also have a block with a high mucky muck.)
