I haven’t purchased anything from Amazon in well over a year or Whole Foods since January, and have also cancelled my Washington Post subscription.
Amazon is helping fund a $300 million build of a ballroom for the White House.

Independent bookstores are donating to food banks and organizations that help with food insecurity.

They are not the same.

I would rather live next door to someone who speaks another language than live next door to someone who doesn’t want to live near people who speak other languages. I know nothing about Person A but I know person B is a shitbird.
Vance says it is "totally reasonable and acceptable" for people to not want to live next door to people who speak a different language than they do

Let kids have an evening of fun and find a separate way to support families! Your local food banks and community organizations would be happy to receive a donation, no matter the amount! It doesn't have to be either/or.
I don't know what's worse, the fact that I'm surprised by this headline or the fact that I probably shouldn't be:

Trump has the same office as Washington, Lincoln, and FDR, yet he chooses to use it on performative stupidity like this.
as far as just messaging goes that video is probably the most embarrassing thing any president has done on the world stage in my life

and the fact that the sunday shows wont even describe it? total abdication of their responsibility

Never forget-
When you have an administration that so constantly, shamelessly, openly lies, pretty soon there’s no faith in any information streams coming from the administration, so there’s no way to convey true information in a way that lands right, which leads to more chaos.

This is the most corrupt DOJ in my lifetime, and my lifetime includes the Watergate years.
For my friends, everything; for my enemies, the law

In a less insane time, if it was discovered that the President of the United States said this privately to their AG, it would’ve triggered an all-encompassing, impeachable corruption scandal.

Here, Trump is saying it publicly and it’s just another Saturday.

There is no world in which it is normal for the president to publicly call upon his attorney general to hurry up and prosecute his political foes. It’s like the Watergate tapes but posted on social media. Let’s get a grip on what’s happening here.

A grim reminder: these people will never be satisfied. There’s no point at which they will say “we’ve won, let’s enjoy life.” They will always be looking for someone else to punish, to revile, to dehumanize. They’re empty without that.

What a truly awful person he is. I'll never understand why the whole lot of them didn't just walk away on the spot or at the very least speak up for her.

This “explicit” is a weird editorial choice. The constitution gives the president no power over this at all. It’s not ambiguous.

I am proud to be a monthly supporter of ProPublica.
On the left: Nate Cavanagh, a 28-year-old DOGE staffer and college dropout.

On the right: Mohammad Halimi, a 53-year-old exiled Afghan scholar.

This is the story of how DOGE targeted Halimi on social media.

Then the Taliban took his family. 🧵

If you want to put back statues and memorials and names of Confederate traitors while tearing down museum exhibitions on slavery because they don't show the greatness of the nation... the nation whose history you're celebrating is whiteness. The kind of nationalist you are is a white nationalist.

Absolutely appalling.
NEW: A federal judge ordered the Trump administration to unfreeze federal funds.

Then the harassment began.

Pizzas sent to his home in the name of Judge Esther Salas’s murdered son, Daniel.

Six credible threats to his life.

More than 400 “vile” calls to his chambers—including this voicemail:

Journalistic suggestion:

Zero value in offering politicians the doily of quotes about "concerns."

Senators are what they vote for. Murkowski could have stopped this atrocious bill. Could have been McCain w ObamaCare. Instead she bowed down.

(Thinking of her quote in April, "We are all afraid.")

Amazing. NYT has more confirmation that Trump's decision to bomb Iran was motivated in large part by the way the Israeli strikes were "playing" on Fox News, which drove him to want credit for it
