So good. I listened during my treadmill run last night and almost fell off when you did the Tampa accent.

I have a few years on you in both firms and in-house, but experience and roles are similar, & this is my experience as well. Some women (I'm one of them) can obsess about or overthink criticism or tense situations. Many men, OTOH, let it all out no matter how offensive, but retreat when confronted.

Getting flashbacks to my early law firm years (mid- 80s/90s). I loved my firm but there were plenty of slights, crudeness, aggression, etc., even from peers & friends. I was in a specialty that at that time didn't have many women, so in meetings was always the default coffee server, copy girl, etc.

Glad to see you are keeping the tradition going in these perilous times, sir.

It's insulting how stupid he is.

We drive through rural MD, WV, & VA a couple times a year to visit in-laws. Familiar scene in all 3 is the presence of Trump signs, flags, etc. - many homes w/multiples of them and sometimes alongside confederate insignia. Doubtful that this will move most of them away from Trump, but one can hope.

Very fun thread - thanks!

He just graduated from law school 3 years ago! If the racism didn't already disqualify him, his lack of experience surely would!

Summer Lee was at the downtown Pittsburgh protest and Chris Deluzio was at 2 different suburban ones, Mt. Lebanon and Sewickley - the latter is one of the wealthiest suburbs in Western PA and it had a great turnout.

I'm on a constituent call with my Congressman (Chris DeLuzio) at the moment- one caller asked this very question! So it's broken through in Western PA. Also will shout out Rep. DeLuzio for answering questions from all sides and for explaining quite well what's going on with the shutdown and why.

My husband makes very spicy, aromatic chili and adds water chestnuts- they don't add flavor but do add interesting texture and absorb some of the heat. (

We here in PA are already overwhelmed by the ads! After last year's saturation, I was looking forward to a break until the mid-terms but alas, Jeffrey Yass has seemingly bottomless pockets to pay for the "Vote No" campaign.

Why does the headline say that the Dems voted to shut down government? That is not what happened!

Lamb was my congressman & suited this purple district well. I think people thought that McCormick, not Oz, would be the GOP nom, so Fetterman would be more of a contrast. In retrospect, Lamb would have crushed Oz & though he comes off as centrist, he'd be in the mold of Casey, who was a good senator

We are frequent visitors to Portland and environs and were last there in early September. This was our experience as well. Stayed at The Nines right on Pioneer Square and walked around at all hours. My only regret is that we weren't there on a Saturday to catch the excellent farmers market.

Little bit of everything, but I won't chance icy or too snowy conditions. Otherwise I don't mind cold temps (mid-20s is my cutoff) except if it's very windy; the cold can be invigorating. But once the days get short, runs are mostly on my treadmill (my pandemic purchase) as I'm an evening runner.
