yeah the hack bad actors have discovered is that if you shout “cancel culture” loud enough nobody asks what you actually did to bring the hammer down on you

or, at least, you build enough of a different (worse) audience that it doesn’t matter
ianboudreau.com
I think the idea of "cancel culture" persists mainly because it conveniently is some outside force acting on someone rather than them torching their reputation all on their own

"republicans used to be less nazi because our institutions heavily socially policed their nazi tendencies. then they purchased all the institutions and made them stop doing that. as a result republicans are now full nazi

the lesson here is that the institutions were wrong to police them before"

Something I’ve been mulling over for a while is that you don’t really need to have any kind of censorship or hate speech laws to deal with this for the
most part.

Just end the undue support/grace/dicksucking they get from the media and dirtbag centrists

@loganclarkhall

Trump won. You don't have to do this anymore.

Quote Tweet of:

Young Republicans

We are appalled by the vile and inexcusable language revealed in the Politico article published today. Such behavior is disgraceful, unbecoming of any Republican, and stands in direct opposition to the values our movement...

“many prominent young republicans are actual Nazis” is a self-censoring fact at this point

normie swing voters will literally refuse to believe it and the media refuses to report it because it would call everything else they’ve done into question
beijingpalmer.bsky.social
while 'young republicans are literal nazis' is well known to folks here, the extent of it is surprisingly not that commonly known even in media and analyst circles, let alone normal people.

Considering this is from “the center for heterodox social science“ I would guess it’s from the researcher‘s asscrack

Once again struck by how many prominent "heterodox" thinkers split off and create their own institutions not because of academic censoriousness but because no one who closely examines their methodology can possibly take them seriously.

Just gonna leave this here.
In survey data, LGBT young people report consistently worse mental health than heterosexual young people.
Whether this is because LGBT causes mental illness (i.e. the minority stress or anomie hypotheses), or because
mental illness causes individuals to be LGBT is beyond the scope of this work.2

You might think Ryan is exaggerating but I used to go to a regular dinner that gradually got taken over by young Republican staffers and I promise you he is not.

WAIT. This Andover data is incredible and uh I don't think it says what he think it says... First two are 2023, next two are 2024. I am absolutely screaming at the misinterpretation here.

recurring gripe of mine: stop talking about these people like they’re fucking supervillains, Palmer Luckey is grifter bullshit artist who is going to steal a lot of public money in exchange for buggy vaporware, he’s not Lex Luthor. they get off when breathlessl hyperventilating about them like this.

The Merchant of Death, billionaire Palmer Luckey, rebranded the DOD the Department of War.

Peter Thiel/Palantir gave his company, Andruil, a billion dollars in January.

This is Palmer “I love killer robots” Luckey.

Origin story on rename below, as well as him hanging out with the worst people.

I really dislike this posting technique of chucking out a couple of insults, then pretending that you are looking for reasonable responses and scolding anyone who takes their cue from the tone of the original post.

are there AI critics or sceptics out there worth reading? (Not Ed Zitron types who just do a whole THIS IS VERY BAD shouty, largely substance-free schtick)
