Made a little mapping tool with @shirleyswirley.bsky.social to answer the question: where in Seattle are people most politically similar to: ______?

For example, this is the similarity map for Broadmoor Golf Club, the most extremist carceral and tax-dodging gated community inside the city bounds.

My first instinct is to send every link and meme to every person and group chat, but I hold back and try to spread it out among them all.

The primary driver of this is that I am worried that they'll be overwhelmed or assume I don't have a job.

Yellowjackets is such an rollercoaster of a show. I love Misty, Christina Ricci does such a great performance.

I'm both empathetic and terrified of her at the same time.

i think to understand the meaning of the birthright citizenship clause to the framers of the 14th amendment, you have to understand significance of dred scott to the civil war republican party. dred scott wasn't just a bad ruling, it was understood as a rejection of the declaration itself.

Publishing all the other boat murder videos but refusing to release the one of the two survivors being killed is an admission they know exactly how bad it looks. There's no other distinction to draw there, no reason to publish the others while withholding that one.

It may sound radical, but if one guy has so much wealth and power that he can use the large newspaper he owns to publicly threaten to ruin a service we all rely on, presumably as a bargaining tactic to get lower rates, we probably need to tax that guy until he can't do that anymore.

This World AIDS Day, we remember the hundreds of thousands of New Yorkers lost to HIV and AIDS, and those living with HIV today. We must remind ourselves and each other that the fight isn’t over until the epidemic is over for everyone.
