Flog It ended in 2020. Homes Under The Hammer is still going strong, though somewhat incredibly continuing to use the same standard definition title sequence from 2003, featuring banknotes that are all now very much not legal tender.

Some idiot on YouTube has probably put them all in the same video so people can hear them played simultaneously. Oh wait--

Thought I was fucking losing it then. Turned over to ITV1 and they're showing The Dark Knight again, the second time in three nights. It's a great film but come on, play the game. No wonder broadcast television's on its arse.

Amazing! Yes, of course the 1979 repeat, makes perfect sense. Maybe he's remembering seeing it on BBC2 in 1982.

"Post you from a different era" - 2008, a time when life was simpler, my waistline was smaller, Doctor Who was popular and showering took longer.
Me in 2008, aged 23. Hard to describe but basically think of a Monoid with two eyes and you're almost there.

“Abigail’s Party, a single play written by Mike Leigh, was watched on BBC2 by 18 million people [in 1977] and we all talked about it the following day. Well, those days are over" - Jimmy Mulville

'Those days' being almost HALF A CENTURY AGO. And it was BBC1. And 16 million watched by most accounts.

Last month, something unusual happened in TV - none of the main channels got a million viewers at 9pm. The bigger problem was it happened a 2nd & 3rd time soon after.

Another unwelcome landmark for linear TV & our shrinking shared TV experience.

Does it matter?

UK broadcasters used to rely on big audiences at 9pm, but as viewing habits change, figures are falling below the 1m mark

As for the so-called 'fans' pestering and sending abuse in the misguided belief that it will magically furnish them with missing Dr Who episodes, I honestly despair. Knobheads.

A fascinating insight into the cataloguing and preservation of UK film collections, some of which are at very real risk of being lost forever without the hard work and dedication of people like Film Are Fabulous. Recommended listening.

"When listing the different TV series that Peter Davison has been a part of since he first appeared on screen in 1975, it's probably easier to list the series he hasn't been a part of."

Pretty sure it fucking isn't.

DOCTOR WHO FANS OF THE WEST MIDLANDS & BIRMINGHAM, YOUR ATTENTION PLEASE
Sun 9 Nov
An Audience With Peter Davison
PRICE
£19.95 When listing the different TV series that Peter Davison has been a part of since he first appeared on screen in 1975, it's probably easier to list the series he hasn't been a part of. Over the years, Davison has been part of The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy, Doctor Who, Miss Marple, All Creatures Great & Small, Law & Order UK, Toast Of London, Good Omens, Gentleman Jack... the list goes on.

Square Eyes is delighted to welcome Peter to this year's festival to talk about his stellar TV career. Before the Q&A, we'll be screening the Doctor Who adventure Black Orchid from Davison's first series as the Fifth Doctor, plus we'll also be showing clips from the Andrew Davies drama A Very Peculiar Practice, which was partly filmed at a number of University of Birmingham locations in the late 80s, including the Arts Building tower and the Vale.
