That's a level of pedantry above mine, I'm afraid.

Ta! And obviously we both meant Season 9, not 8. All these years and still no bloody edit button...

The one on the Season 8 Blu-ray is a reconstructed edit of the 1972 omnibus; this sounds like a brand new edit, most likely by Benjamin Cook.

FUN FACT: This news makes The Sea Devils* officially the most oft-repeated Pertwee story on 'terrestrial' television, ahead of Spearhead From Space**, The Daemons*** and The Green Death**** (3 repeats each).

I always aim to climax during Dragon Ray-Gun but if I'm feeling tired the missus just settles for Styre's Scouting Machine (Approach, Stop, Search, Depart).

No offence to John but I just can't imagine achieving tumescence, let alone being balls deep in the missus, whilst he croons The Lady In Red.

"12. The Beatles Anthology DVD Box Set, 1995, is a bargain at £17."

Oh fuck off.
November 7, 2025 at 11:49 AM
"8. Quatermass Collection - Limited Edition Box Set, spanning from 1953 to 1979, also costs £225."

A set I'm sure many Brits will have casually sat on their shelves, tucked between Friends and Breaking Bad.

At least they would if such a box set ACTUALLY EXISTED. Starting to think AI wrote this.

"14. Taxi Driver - 35th Anniversary Blu-ray Edition, 1976, can be yours for £150."

Yeah, that's a Blu-ray.

"4. The Godfather: The Coppola Restoration Limited Edition Blu-ray Box Set, 1972-1990, £300."

And another.

"9 . Twin Peaks: The Entire Mystery Blu-ray Box Set, 1990-1991, £225."

Sigh.

Third time's a charm:

"The World at War - Ultimate Restored Blu-ray Edition, 1973-1974, is priced at £225."

Erm, that's a Blu-ray set. You guys said this was a list of 15 DVDs titles.

No matter, everyone makes mistakes. Some make more than most, apparently, but let's continue...

"13. Red Dwarf - Just the Shows DVD Box Set, 1988-1999, is priced at £150."

I'm sure it is priced at £150, probably on a dusty shelf in some quaint collectables shop being run by an absolute chancer.

No matter, I still believe in you Tracy Martin and

*checks notes*

Bally Casino. Seriously?

Maybe the article is referring to the DVD partwork set as being "£350 on average". Let's check eBay.

£100.

Tops.

If you're bloody lucky.

No worries, I'm sure it's just an honest mistake and the other 14 DVDs on the list will all be worth big bucks...
November 7, 2025 at 11:49 AM
"The Carry On Film Collection takes the top spot for being the most valuable. A complete box set of films from the much-loved British comedy series can command around £350 on average."

Wow! If a supposedly "complete" set (Columbus counts, folks!) is worth £350, I bet CeX will be offering big... oh
November 7, 2025 at 11:49 AM
"In a recent study, Bally Casino identified several DVDs that could be surprisingly valuable."

A casino. Checking DVD prices. That can't be good for business.

But wait:

"They worked with collectables expert Tracy Martin to gain insights into what makes certain editions stand out"

Reassuring.

Bear in mind it took 3 journalists to write - and presumably fact check - this article. The first is ostensibly a Daily Express travel journalist (okay?), the second an editor at Liverpool Echo, and the third a Yorkshire Live editor with a very unfortunate name of which I am sure he is well aware.
