MEGLOS: Flies trapped in amber! Not even Frasier Crane can escape a Channel Four loop.
GRUGGER: What?
MEGLOS: I've caught him inside a fold of time.
GRUGGER: Huh?
MEGLOS: His only respite is the short ad break at 9.47am when he loops back to the start. Round and round.... for all eternity!

Richard winning Big Brother genuinely gives me some hope for the future of this country. #BBUK

#DoctorWho In An Exciting Adventure With The Sea Devils is getting a 'special re-edited' repeat on Sunday 7th December at 7pm on BBC Four.

The 90-minute 'blockbuster special' (we just called them omnibuses in my day) will feature new sound design by Mark Ayres and additional music by Lorne Balfe.

I was honestly expecting the How Are You? I'm Alan (Partridge) Blu-ray to be a bare bones affair, so how ruddy bloody brilliant it is to see @richardlatto.bsky.social involved in giving us some exclusive VAM - one for my Christmas list! :)

OK I'll bite...

What, pray tell Yorkshire Live, are these 15 highly desirable UK DVD titles that have significantly appreciated in value over the years?

You might want to make a cup of tea, mainly because it's a better use of your time than reading this thread.

Surprise surprise, turns out Caroline is even more unnecessarily hateful and delusional on the outside of the Big Brother house. No doubt GB News will be lining her up for a show before Christmas. #BBUK

Didn't expect to see a clip from The Faceless Ones episode three on the Six O'Clock News today...

Just grabbed the new DWM on my way to work. Looks like some great stuff in there, but I was most eager to read their review of the Season 13 Blu-ray...

...but there isn't one?

There is, however, a brief, generic mention of AI ("creative people are using it as a powerful tool") in the letters page.

Watching BBC2's Girlbands Forever. I was a lowkey fan of girl groups in the late '90s - not something a teenage lad at a rough North Manchester school would readily admit to - so plenty of nostalgia for me here.

The descriptive captions whenever Easther Bennett sings are a bit weird though.

I like how Peter Serafinowicz even keeps the "extremely incompetent failing business" joke going right down to the sole choice of delivery company

I haven't seen The Wild Geese at the cinema. This may have to change.

Not saying anticipation is low, but today I discovered an official trailer for the catchily-titled* THE WAR BETWEEN THE LAND AND THE SEA dropped on 31st May.

152 days ago, and I had no idea. And I'm a massive #DoctorWho nerd.

*come on guys, "The Lives And Loves Of A Sea Devil" was *right there*

I know barely anyone cares about Big Brother anymore but I'm amazed how ITV, a channel supposedly committed to encouraging mental wellness, are hell bent on enabling this wretched, immature 56 year old woman in her relentless bullying of a 60 year old man in the name of supposed entertainment

Bidding a fond farewell to Prunella Scales today.

Recently watched her in Mr Big, the rarely seen 1977 BBC sitcom about a family of incompetent criminals, made between series of Fawlty Towers. She was by far the best thing about it, often the case where Prunella Scales was concerned. RIP

Just caught up with the latest posts in the temporarily unlocked Gallifrey Base thread. Suggestions that picture settings may be to blame for people seeing artefacts of AI processing.

"Might also be worth checking [HDMI] cables are up to date."

Jesus wept.

I actually said it's probably fairest not to judge still frames taken from moments of rapid movement, as that is where AI would likely struggle the most.

Here's the specific shot that set alarm bells ringing when the YouTube trailer dropped. To my eyes, it just looks unnatural.
