and I had to check *their* work for errors, that would be way easier and quicker because I could suss out their reasoning. AI's mistakes often don't make any logical sense whatsoever, and if you ask it why it did something or to correct it, it lies, makes shit up, or gets confused.

This is a huge reason I outright refuse to use AI (aside from the environmental and ethical reasons). It would take me twice as long to check its work for errors then to just do it myself in the first place. It's such garbage. Even if I had a hypothetical human coworker doing my work
