We have to keep shoveling all money, labor, water, and the environment into this mulcher so it will one day attain sentience and solve climate change, the first of which is impossible and the latter is a problem we have known the cause of and solution to for over a hundred years
is it better for countries to invest in boring things like transport and energy infrastructure or should they invest all their money in useless chatbots that talk in reddit-voice on the vague and completely unsubstantiated hope that they'll be able to do something profitable one day

This is so real. I'm lucky enough to have arrangements to host most of the time, but I'll meet up wherever and whenever. There's no schedule, just willingness to attempt. Added bonus to share a meal together too
BTW, TTRPGs being largely set against an ever encroaching atomization of society shouldn't ever be an invitation to "give up" these spaces. You can play for less hours, or find flexible arrangements, but GET TOGETHER IF YOU CAN. TTRPGs as some of the last spaces of IRL company is worth committing to
Tell 3-4 of your close offline friends, all of whom are presumably working age adults, some of whom may have families on top of jobs, that you want to get together on the weekend for 6-8 uninterrupted hours. Now tell them you want to do that every weekend for an indeterminate amount of time

If you can afford it (and I mean msinly emotionally and psychologically), consider leaving the US. It's tragic to see that the amount of money people beg for only to get groceries for the month would in other places pay you rent and groceries for like half a year. That country bleeds you dry.
