For Long Library this week, I wrote a little about Spike Lee's Highest 2 Lowest and a lot more about Tony Scott's Taking of Pelham 123. Hope you enjoy!

Fun as hell thread here
I'm finally starting this project to watch the entire Touchstone Pictures filmography (every film associated with the Disney label whether through production or distribution) from 1984-2016 & share my thoughts on each release in this thread. Follow along as I revisit the hits, misses & obscurities.
Look sometimes you put on a few and a wardrobe update is expensive

The thing with Ohtani for me is that he has exactly one comp in baseball history, and it's a guy who was regarded as mythical even in his own time. And Ohtani's more talented than *that*

Since it's that time of year I'm going to re-share my Halloween piece from last year, about two of my favorite films of the season. Tap in if you didn't last October (or hell, even if you did!)
Friends, for Halloween I wrote about Fright Night, the Guest, and what we learn about ourselves when a stranger comes calling. Would love it if you'd read

If I can't make an excuse to write about that movie why even have a newsletter?
Whiffing on three grand juries is crazy. I didn't even think that was possible
U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro lost 3x in a closely watched case that arose during the transfer of detainees to ICE outside of the D.C. jail.

~three grand jury no bills;
~one acquittal by the judge;
~one acquittal by the petit jury.

Juries are doing their jobs.

No longer a small one imo. They're saying it's a very good-sized entity
Really good piece man. I don't love this one like I should on paper but I think you make the strong case for Zombie really well.

Don’t share much writing anymore because really what’s the point but here’s the time I wrote about The Devil’s Rejects, a true masterpiece of a crumbling American empire: inreviewonline.com/2023/01/13/t...

Liberal pro-Israel politics in the United States and the Anglosphere writ large relies upon an idealized version of a state which does not exist, a political elite which does not act the way the West pretends it does, and a civil society which is far more conservative than the West likes to imagine.
Do they not have the saluting guy emoji on here? I can't find the damn saluting guy emoji. Anyway pretend I posted three of the saluting guy emoji in response to this
Howdy folks. Will try to be more active over here. If we haven't talked in awhile then I hope you're well! If we just talked I still hope that but have more recent evidence.
If only we'd thought of this sooner! The hours of sleep we could have had!

Have I ever said that I think THE INSIDER is the greatest movie ever made? Well, for my In Review Online debut, I write about the movie's relevant understanding of journalism's capitulating limitations and how those themes are elevated by Mann's signatures.
