If you’re old enough to drink but not old enough to have lived through World War 1, and have watched baseball: Barry Lamar Bonds is the best baseball player you’ve ever watched.

However: I don’t think Barry has a singular game as impactful, important and entertaining as Ohtani’s Game 4 performance.

Assign whatever level of importance you feel is appropriate with this information:

If you take Total Bases + Walks + Stolen Bases (basically every base you "earn" on offense) and divide it by plate appearances, the best Ohtani season would be the 11th best Bonds season

Barry Bonds career stats. The last column is (Total Bases + BB + IBB + HBP + SB) / Plate appearances

Shohei Ohtani career stats. The last column is (Total Bases + BB + IBB + HBP + SB) / Plate appearances
