if I had procedural crosshatching that used the depth buffer in a really neat way and then used more shader code to warp the visual world position of the procedurally crosshatched material it would not take as many calculations as fortnite sand or something like that

This past year I've somehow become obsessed with "pingas" again. Cant stop saying it, cant stop thinking it. I DONT KNOW WHY. This morning i thought "I need a mug that says 'DONT TALK TO ME UNTIL I'VE SNOOPED AS USUAL' on it". Thats nothing! That's literally nothing!! put me down like a sick animal.

a lot of graphical fidelity capabilities have to do with being able to run more shader code but people don't use it well and usually they just want big ass textures occupying both ram and vram

i think spectacle is very broadly definable while hype moments and aura, as much as it doesn't actually have a definition, calls more specific imagery to mind
i think about spectacle i think about the death star or the avatar cgi, hype moments and aura is super saiyan or doomguy

i think if you sat me down in a room and forced me to play both on a computer i'd say i prefer gen 3 but i wouldn't be happy with either
probably the only gen i was happy to play almost completely standalone was gen 5, which actually ranks it very high for me
